I am vegetarian, entertaining, and initially shy.
My Self-Summary
Oh lord, I hate how okCupid refuses to accept one's application
until one has written an adequate number of words.
Despite the "oh lord", I swing back somewhere between agnostic,
Unitarian Universalist, and pagan. I'm not particularly religious,
though.
What I’m doing with my life
I moved from the States to Vancouver at the beginning of the year,
and I'm enjoying having such things like good public transit and
universal health care! Yay Canada.
I might go back to school for a degree in library science, I might
look into becoming a midwife, or I might move to Amsterdam and
spent the next year perpetually stoned. We shall seee....
I like hiking and going for bike rides, and I'm trying to talk
myself into trying out running.
I’m really good at
Knitting, although I haven't been doing a lot of that lately.
Hula hooping.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told that I come across as articulate, although I don't
know how accurate this is.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I like sci-fi and fantasy, especially women authors such as
Marion
Zimmer Bradley and
Elizabeth Moon. Alison Sinclair's
book Cavalcade is really good, although not so well-known, and I
adore Donna Tartt's
The Secret History. Ditto
Phillip Pullman's books, and Starhawk's
The Fifth Sacred Thing.
Actually, speaking of dystopian fiction I also really like Margaret
Atwood's book
Oryx and Crake, even though it
scares me half to death, as does Olivia E. Butler's
Parable of the
Sower.
I was vegan for two years (no animal products at all), and then I
moved to a house with cable and watched entirely too many pizza
commercials, so now I'm back to being vegetarian. I was I was still
vegan, but I don't have the willpower for it at the moment. :/
The six things I could never do without
Sleeping in, especially when it's chilly outside and my bed is warm
and soft and cozy.
My darling (yet rather abused) iPod. I caved after months of
claiming that no! An ordinary mp3 player is perfectly fine! iPod's
are overpriced and will break! And...then my Sansa broke and I
bought an iPod. Now I totally understand why Apple has a monopoly
on the market, even if all their iPod accessories are ridiculously
overpriced. Seriously, $30 for an iPod charger?!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Kink, kinky sex and how I want to explore this a lot more. Yeah.
I've been dipping my toe into the Vancouver
bdsm scene, and it makes me feel giddy and
nervous and excited and scared and just plain happy.
On a typical Friday night I am
at home watching Dollhouse.
On Saturday night, though, I might be at
Sin City or
Rascals. Or...at home eating take-out
pizza. Om nom nom.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have dual Canadian/American citizenship, and I also have a
British passport which will allow me to work and travel in the EU.
I'd love to wander around Europe but I'm just not quite willing to
do so alone, so I'm waiting until I find someone who wants to come
with me.
I also have piercings that I will not speak of here. XD
You should message me if
You aren't waiting on tenterhooks for a response. Sorry. I'm
usually pretty bad about messaging people back.
