I am wondering, wandering, and wry.

My Self-Summary

I love life. I'm constantly entertained with how weird it is.

I like cocktails. Specifically I like girly cocktails. With rum in them. Or gin. Or some new liqueur that I found in some shop that I just had to buy because of the really awesome bottle.

I love to travel. Well not so much the in-transit portion but rather the being abroad part. I like watching people, but not in a creepy voyeuristic way but more of an omg this is soooo awesome way.

I'm curious about everything and willing to try anything. I'm also impulsive. Maybe I should say that I have poor impulse control, but not in a bad way... it's just if I see something I want, I tend to go for it without thinking. Ok sometimes it doesn't turn out so well, but it does mean that I'm down for pretty much anything.

Want to go to some four star resort in a topical paradise or some cramped quarters in Turkey? Sounds good to me. Want to go scuba diving? I'm down. Want to spend a sleepy day in bed reading? I'm all about it. Want to get dressed up for Halloween? I'll be sporting steampunk with serious attention to detail. Want to go to host a cocktail party? No problem, I'll get the cheese and the bubbly. I'm not into burning man, but if you wanted to go, I'd beat you there. I'm always down for new experiences with someone who is passionate about an activity.

I like to ask questions, often of myself or rather to myself and anyone who happens to be near me. I like having deep cerebral conversations. I like having silly conversations. I just like sharing ideas.

I don't take myself too seriously. Life is far too entertaining to take oneself too seriously.

What I’m doing with my life

Starting companies based on my skills at making computers obey my command. I also pet puppies... not professionally, but I hope one day to turn it into a career - especially if this whole internet thing turns out to be a fad.

I'm also learning to play the ukulele because I'm planning on being an internationally famous ukulele star (my threshold for being famous is quite low). Right now I'm thinking of calling myself Uke Skywalker. Previously rejected names include Uke of Earl and Ukes of Hazard (because of racial issues surrounding that show).

I've recently taken up hiking too. I haven't figured out how to work it into my ukulele star lifestyle though...

I’m really good at

I've actually won the internets several times. You can find my initials in the high score board.

I can recalling very useless facts such as the optimal speed of a sushi boat conveyor.

My best 7 letter scrabble word was zygotes on a triple word score. I was so proud of myself that took a photo of the board.

I'm a pretty decent sailor. I've captained 40-50' sailboats which is way more fun than I thought it'd be (it is a hobby I took up after someone suggested going to Hawaii to learn to sail on a boat for a week... see impulsiveness above :)

I'm also pretty good at modesty, so I'll stop here. :)

The first things people usually notice about me

Usually people first notice my aura of pure awesomeness. Oh wait, modesty. Make that my aura of slightly impure awesomeness?

Actually I wear a lot of jackets and some of them are pretty fabulous, so people probably notice that before my aura of slightly impure awesomeness.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I have seriously considered adopting a poodle and training it to hunt truffles so that I can have an endless supply. It isn't that hard; trust me I've done the research.

The six things I could never do without

Photos of small ultra cute animals, cultural differences, the internets, a bajillion pillows, cocktails, sharing

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I've thought a lot about slowing down the rotation of the earth so that we could have 25 hour days though this is already happening (albeit slowly). I rejected this plan since it seemed like a lot of effort just to sleep in an extra hour every day and the slightly larger problem of having to eject a fairly significant portion of earth into space to counter the rotation of the planet.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I was once attacked by a sea turtle. It was a man eater. Ok, it was more like a finger eater. Actually thinking back now, I'm pretty sure it was an herbivore and it probably wasn't chasing me, but was caught in the same current I was.

You should message me if

You should message me if you want to, but especially if you can answer yes to any of the following questions:

Do you have a plan to replace the local pigeon population with colorful cockatoos?

Do you consider swimming with dolphins to be one of the largest hazards one can undertake? (see note on sea turtles above)

Are you super awesome and wicked smart?

Would you like to know the optimal speed of a sushi boat conveyor?

Do you play well with girls? I believe in non-monogamous but committed and equal relationships (polyfi - read The Ethical Slut if you're curious)
