I'm a huge geek, and don't you forget it (cause I'm probably gonna and I'll need help remembering).
I love lots of things in this world, I'm a kind of a workaholic and I never get enough bloody sleep. You know. Always mucking about on that two-bit juggling act of time-for-work, time-for-other-people, time-for-myself, time-for-throwing-kittens-into-the-wood-chipper-out-back.
I may or may not actually spend time on one of those aforementioned things.
I love all things digital. I kind of have to, all of what I do for a living involves sitting in front of the computer and making pretty pictures.
There's plenty of digital things I don't like, though. Digital food, digital parties, digital pets, digital massively multiplayer online experiences, digital Presidents of Burundi, digital furniture and digital sneakers. I'm not even sure how a pair of digital sneakers would feel. Uncomfortable.
What was I talking about.
Oh yes- I love all things digital. And I express this love of all-things-digital by trying to create things that move people. Art, movies, video games, comics. I do my best to try to be evocative.
So I'm some sort of artist. Translated, this also means I'm generally some sort of tired. I freelance, working from home, and set my own deadlines and ideally meet them, which means I'm generally some sort of busy. And also generally some sort of not busy. And I went to school for making art on computers, which means I'm generally some sort of crazy.
Hahaha! No, that's not true either.
I'm not really tired right now.
Long story short, I am a geeky, terminally distracted art-type person. I try to keep it classy while doing that. You'll have to let me know if I'm succeeding.
I'm no good at this question.
Seriously speaking, probably the way I'm dressed. I tend to subscribe to the Neil Gaiman school of dress: all black.
Makes it easy- black looks good with everything.
I *have* read "The Prince"...years and years after I picked my username. Didn't care for it, though. Philosophical differences.
MOVIES) Snatch. Fury Road. The last Godzilla was gorgeous. Flicks like Sin City and The Spirit are like really fatty steak dinners. Exit Through The Gift Shop was hilarious, and Tangled made me feel like a little kid again. I don't watch movies often, which is unfortunate. It makes every single one I watch amazing.
There is one other movie that I'd say has affected me more than any other. I'd rather tell you about it in person, though. In case I forget what the hell my past self was talking about when he was writing this, ask me about the time a movie made me catatonic with amazement on the couch for two hours.
MUSIC) Tom Waits, TV On The Radio, DJ Shadow, Arctic Monkeys, Thievery Corporation, pg.lost, Caravan Palace, The Neighborhood, Murder By Death, Skyhill, Boards of Canada, Frank Sinatra, The Bronx, The Cat Empire, Sigur Ros, Sublime, Outkast, Burial, Placebo, Radiohead, Wu-Tang Clan Hossam Ramzy Sage Francis Austin Wintory Massive Attack Obsidian Squarepusher Marilyn Manson All India Radio Gotan Project Niccolo Motherfucking Maganini JamieCullumOfMontrealQueensoftheStoneAgeQnPSeetycaCherryPoppinDaddies TheDecembristsTartiniBrianEnoATribeCalledRedGorillazAfroCeltSoundSystemAphexTwin.... in other words anything, anything, anything and anything.
Except country. I'm sorry.
EDIBLE-TYPE BIOMATTER) Tasty food. I'm (almost) never picky.
TEEVEE/WEB PROGRAMS) Not a whole lot/a whole lot. I have no cable. The internet is my TV, and with a ridiculous number of channels at that.
VIDYA GAMES) If you're into knowing about these, ask me. I'll talk your goddamned ear off.
what -is- next, anyways
The thought has me excited.
Why don't you try it out and let me know how it goes.
Step right up! One and all!
