My hobbies: Painting, music, and stuff. Right now I like Salsa dancing, and I've started visiting places to dance socially. I've got the gist of it now... although there is still much to learn. Sometimes I play piano/keyboard.

I'm some combination of an art person and an engineer. My sense of humor is based on reality and sarcasm. I am ok with questioning just about anything or finding truth in just about anything.

I always enjoy hearing something new (like music)... or seeing something new... and sharing with others.

I'm engaged in research and design efforts in the field of biomedical computer vision. I work at UCSD developing new image processing techniques for biology problems. Most of our funding comes from the National Institute of Health. We develop technology that allows scientists to study the brain and nervous system, and in this way we facilitate the development of new cures and medical technologies.

A piano - for relaxing. A computer for whatever. A pencil because it's erasable. A quiet place to work because everything distracts me. Sleep - it feels good. Cranberry juice - it tastes good.

I like to:
(1) Go to Salsa clubs (there's one any day of the week in SD)
(2) Watch old TV shows & science fiction on netflix

In general, I like a music concert performance (probably jazz) or a theater performance that a university is hosting. (I like those small theater productions with students involved and weird stories.)
