My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Please note, I do actually smile a lot but it seems that it's yet to be caught on camera. I don't really take myself (or this profile) too seriously IRL and can be quite dry (think stems from being northern). Usually rushing between screenings, roof terraces, cafes, parties and picnics. Other times resting with a good book, radio or a spot of vinyl.

Over the years I've acquired a variety of (potentially?) useful skills - lifesaving, rabbit skinning, baking elaborate cakes, boxing, phonetics, knot making, cocktail making, learning brewing, clothes making, antique dealing...

Day job doing PR/Digital Online stuff and freelance work as a writer - journalism (film, music, fashion, design), scripts, writing kids book...
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
gallery musings, bike riding, lurking in book stores, eating cake, cine-8 filming, exploring, screenings, writing in my notebook, swimming outdoors, running, seaside/country jaunts, cooking too much food for friends, collecting maps, knitting, European city visits, real ale sampling, market strolling, long rambling walks...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

I like dinosaurs, cat gifs, reading menus and pasties. Also...

Watch a lot of films. Few favourite directors include Lynch, Wenders, Van Sant, Jarmusch, Anderson, Baumbach, Kubrick, Melville, Fassbinder...
The opening credits to David Lynch's Lost Highway always make me happy.
TV - Adam & Joe, The Day Today, Twin Peaks, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Sopranos, Arrested Development, anything David Attenborough makes. Charlie Brooker, Brian Elsy, Steve Coogan and Chris Morris provide the laughs.
Theatre - Beckett, O'Neill, Ionesco, O'Casey, Artaud, Zola...
Music sample - Autechre, Talking Heads, Four Tet, Bowie, Burial, Savages, Aretha Franklin, Fennesz, Aaliyah, Swans, The Knife, Tycho, Chopin, Sun Araw, Debussy, M83, Pavement, The Fall, Goat, Toro Y Moi, My Bloody Valentine, Jon Hopkins, Deafheaven, Beirut, Prince, Pissed Jeans, Black Flag, FKA Twigs, Nico, Boards of Canada, Rakim, Joanna Gruesome anything on the Dance Mania label...
Books - the good ol' Russians, new journalism, post-structuralism, wrote dissertation on Bukowski. Currently reading about semiotics and the history of hip hop (sadly two different books)
Food - love to cook but also like to find new foods to try around London. Recommendations welcome.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
