Thoughtful introvert, resisting the standard template of adulthood. I'm a programmer prostitute. I do dirty things on the internet for corporations who can afford me. For the right price, I'll do a Hello World, right in your server room.
I'm curious about all things. I could talk about bullshit for hours. If you ever wonder about the weirdest things, I am the sort of person who will wonder with you.
[Something about enjoying new things, traveling, and appreciating food, like all humans do.]
What I’m doing with my life
Contract worker in the IT business. I program stuff. I refuse to go full time because I like taking time off between contracts. Every six months to a year, I need to refresh my cubicle worn soul. That usually means traveling somewhere and experiencing new things.
I’m really good at
Procrastinating. I'm at my best when there is barely enough time.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm not extremely tall. Some women find this offensive.
I'm expressionate. I can be quiet initially, but chances are, you can see what I am thinking by looking at my face. When I get to know you, I'm not so quiet, but I'm still easy to read.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Young Neil would say, "This is a pretty big question."
Books: Anything physics. I can't say I completely understand what I read, but I think the real world is more fantastic than any creation story. A Brief History of Time and The Grand Design. Sci-fi too, like Ender's Game, the Speaker Series, and the Shadow series.
Movies: Scott Pilgrim, Your Highness, Zombieland, Oblivion, Pacific Rim, Edge of Tomorrow. Uh, Fifth Element, Boondock Saints... this could go on for a while. Again, sci-fi, action, surreal. I will watch that rom-com with you if you make me. I am a sucker for animated films... but if anyone asks, you "dragged me to it."
Shows: I don't own cable, and I don't really watch a lot of TV, but I do like adult fantasy and adult cartoons. Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Archer, Bob's Burgers, Adventure Time, Venture Brothers, and True Detective. All time favorite? Rick and Morty.
Food: Mostly anything. I love to explore food and try new things. I avoid fast food, until it's the very last option.
The six things I could never do without
1) My smartphone. It's amazing, being able to walk into another country, and let your connection guide you. GPS, language translation, and a link to everything we have ever known, right in my pocket? This is a device that people take for granted.
2-6) A cozy home. My family. My friends. Cats. Hope.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I don't know, everything. The universe. Where we are as a species. What I want in life. The ideal solution to common problems. The next big idea.
...how to save the day if my office was invaded by mercenaries...
On a typical Friday night I am
In with friends, out with friends. Sometimes out of town with friends. Sometimes home, by myself, Netflixing or programming a game I will never finish.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I love to travel, but I'm terrified of flying. I do it anyways.
You should message me if
If you think we'd make good friends. Or good more-than-friends. Or
at least interesting arch nemeses.
