My self-summary
Magisch Moose (alces alces magickerus) are largely solitary creatures with a few close friends. They differ from the other Moose in several ways including their re/detachable antlers and opposable thumbs. While not native to Ohio, there are some known to be found there. They eat a diet composed of a mix of foods including chicken, sushi, phad thai, grilled cheese sandwiches, and broccoli, among other things.

Magisch Moose enjoy many human activities. They like to read, enjoy science (particularly engineering and physics), robots, watch television, and play games. They like the human invention of the internets as well, and can be found browsing it on occasion. In social settings, they readily make friends with children.

Magisch Moose are trusting, sometimes to a fault, and optimistic. They always try to do the right thing and tell the whole truth. They are slow to anger, but gross injustice inflames their ire. Typically though, they are friendly and kind-hearted, though introverted. They enjoy spending time with other kind-hearted creatures, and despise cruelty in all of its forms. Magisch Moose are loyal and helpful friends and mates.

I am Rational, Altruistic, and Silly
What I’m doing with my life
Until recently, I was taking care of my elderly grandmother. She was having numerous health issues over the last few years and needed 24-hour care. Unfortunately she just passed away -- well, about a year ago now.

I'm in the IT field and work as a Data Center Site Engineer. It's pretty fun.
I’m really good at
Talking too much. I tend to ramble on and on and on.

Well, math, physics, being supportive, reading, learning, and a number of other things too.
The first things people usually notice about me
At first I usually come across as very reserved and quiet. It takes a little while for me to warm up to people I've just met. Well, that or I come across as more than a bit weird. It depends on how well the banter is flowing. I'm pretty smart so that is also noticed quite quickly as well.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
There's a ton, so we'll have to go with a non-representative sampling.

Books: Diamond Age, the Foundation Series, Harry Potter, the Dresden Files, random Science Texts, and I'll add more later.

Movies: Harvey is probably my favorite movie of all time. Overall I enjoy action movies, science fiction, comedies, romantic-whatever, etc, but they need to have plots that aren't full of holes (or just be very silly, but both doesn't hurt).

TV: Doctor Who is definitely my favorite show. Also, Burn Notice. Hmm, not a lot of shows I like on anymore, or maybe I am just not looking hard enough. I did like Stargate: SG1, Atlantis, The Good Guys, Terra Nova, Star Trek (Original, TNG, DS9), the old Law and Order, and a bunch of other stuff.

Hmm, I'll shall further edit this out later.
The six things I could never do without
In no particular order

1. Ethics.

2. Science and Reason.

3. Love

4. Compassion

5. Books and, in general, Knowledge

6. Family
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of time thinking about the future, the past, where society is going, where humanity is going, government, science, and many other things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Probably, the I've watched the latest My Little Pony cartoon and liked it quite a bit. It's written quite well. So I guess as part of that, I still watch some cartoons here and there -- I checked out Wordgirl on Netflix and was pleased. Heh, I guess I like some shows aimed at kids sometimes...perhaps partly because I like to see what's out there for when one day I have children.

I don't consider many things private though, so feel free to ask or talk to me about anything. I take no offense at honest questions.

You are compassionate and have a well-developed sense of morality.

You read. It seems to be a somewhat uncommon trait these days.
