My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
If I won the lottery, I'd have homes in Bed Stuy, the Bywater and Salvador, Brazil. I'd run dance programs for kids in all three places. I'd spend a lot of time in Haiti and East Africa. I'd rock climb a lot, and I'd have an aerial arts studio in my living room.

Wait, this isn't the "What would you do if you won the lottery" section?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I grew up in the city that leads the nation for "Most Violent Crimes per Capita". As soon as I could, I skipped town and moved to New Orleans so I could feel safe. Years later, I left New Orleans for a brief and soul-crushing stint in DC (if cities were colors, DC would be Beige), and then headed up to New York to become a corporate lawyer. The New York part of that sentence was a good decision. After years of being locked in a room on the 48th floor surrounded by 200-page credit agreements, I quit and traveled around the world, heading east and even further east until I was west again.

Now I get paid to work with some of the most humbly heroic and passionate human rights reformers on the planet. I spend a lot of time trying to wrap my head around social justice and legal reform in Haiti, Cambodia, Mongolia, Monrovia ... and the rest of time I'm thinking about how lucky I am.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I started up a dance group 6 years ago to march in the mermaid parade ....we were nine then and now we're a solid and crazily creative forty. Sometimes we even win trophies.

So I think I'm really good at bringing really good people together.

I'm also really good at showing up just about anywhere in the world with little to no plan. I really want to try it in Detroit but I'm afraid that might be taking adventurous too far.

My guacamole is the best. and my friends say I make the best boxed mac n cheese. (If that doesn't hook you, I don't know what will.)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
hmmm. I think this would require some sort of poll.

probably my scintillating wit and luminous charm

In that order,

Favorite / Least Favorite:

Lolita / The Da Vinci Code

Sex, Lies, and Videotape / anything with Steven Seagal

Six Feet Under / Burn Notice (I've never seen it. But I can't handle that guy's smug cool dude thing from the ads)

favorite music is too hard. But least favorite is easy: Phil. Collins.

Truffle Cheese Popcorn (one of the only things I can consistently "cook" well) / Tomatoes
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

Passport (for real. They'd fire me.)

Toothbrush (and related items)

regular supply of clean water

Colorful tights in cold climates

why six?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Bunnies and rainbows.

or, see above.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
wine. music. friends. impromptu dance parties.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
every time I see the movie 8 mile, I get a secret crush on Eminem.

I guess I just accidentally admitted that I've seen 8 mile more than once.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
you're nice
you like girls your own age
you show more than just your pecs and abs in your photo
you like an independent girl (but still don't mind helping out with electronics and power tools from time to time)
you think any of these would make for a good first date: riding the ferry, shooting whiskey, drinking one chocolate malted with two straws, playing The Game of Life, dog-sledding across the Canadian Arctic, making Christmas cards for orphans, skipping rope, cracking wise, sorting mixed nuts for little to no pay, rolling around on a bed made of Perigord truffles, a truly excellent make out session
