I am shy, every now, and then.

My Self-Summary

Kinda new to this stuff. I'm a pretty quiet person who spends most of the time outside of work reading, listening to music, and walking around.

What I’m doing with my life

Just working at the moment (shipping/recieving for a web company), though have been considering going back to school. Only problem is the only things I'd want to go to school for would be useless in the real world. I've kinda been a bit of a hermit this year so far, and have been trying to find a way to get myself out more often, with mixed results

The first things people usually notice about me

my hair (why do people like touching curly hair so much?). The fact that I seemingly never sit down, which I guess makes people really nervous. Also, not something I've really had other people notice much, but something I always have, is I have a very clumsy way of talking. Sentences seem to stop and start randomly, ideas that have nothing to do with each other bump and get mixed up together and fade in and out. Simple words are forgotten very often. This along with the naturally low volume I talk at can make me a bit confusing sometimes

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

books: A History of God, Rock and the Pop Narcotic, The Subterraneans, Tropic of Cancer. I'll read pretty much anything though

movies/television : I don't really watch movies that much. Every once in a while it's nice to go out and see something with some friends, but I don't keep up on what's current. Favorites are Harold and Maude, Roman Holiday, Persepolis, and The Shawshank Redemption. TV I ususally keep up with Mad Men, Breaking Bad, No Reservations, and like to keep the Food Network or History Channel or a game on in the background when I don't feel like reading in my room.

music: I love pretty much everything minus classical, with a special place in my heart for hardcore and indie pop. Current/some all time favorites: Boyracer, Dolly Mixture, Black Flag, Hatred Surge, Why?, Themselves, A-Frames, Henry's Dress, João Coração, Os Mutantes, Kurt Vile, Meneguar, Boy's Life, Lightning Bolt, XYX... Way more, but way too many to name. I'm always on the hunt for something new, and wish I could go to shows more often. or http://www.last.fm/user/malesheetz

food: indian, mexican, thai, good hamburgers (not expensive, just well made or so over the top you can't help but love it), but I'm willing to give anything a shot. I can cook a bit, but haven't really kept in practice much lately (not anything fancier than potatoes or chorizo anyways). I don't really go out to eat much anymore, but I usually prefer tiny cheaper places

The six things I could never do without

cigarettes, books, music, glasses, comfy socks, dress shirts

I spend a lot of time thinking about

life, my family, what's for dinner, god, what I want to listen to next, why I think so much.

On a typical Friday night I am

either sitting at home catching up on my reading, or out with friends wandering around, drinking, and talking about life, music, and other dumb things. Or doing laundry

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I didn't learn how to ride a bike until I was 18. Also don't know how to whistle

You should message me if

you like chatting about/sharing weird/obscure/awesome music
like wandering around aimlessly
up for randomly going to dive bars/shows/house parties/cheap food places. I've never been particularly good at making plans, but I hate flaking on people so I'll almost always show up if plans are made.
