If you look at my photos, I am actually pictured in three different pairs of glasses. I tried to fight it for years, but I'm a glasses girl. Geek for the win!
I love to experience new things (riding motorcycles!, jumping out of planes!, riding a segway!) and share those experiences with the people in my life. Friends and family are very important to me, but I am independent and I take pride in this.
I also love learning about almost anything. No really, I've recently read books about the Founding Fathers, glitter rock, Dworkinism (not a fan), pornography (points if you know how and what in this list is related to pornography), feminist film theory, sensual lovin' (or, you know, sex), sequential art, geek culture...and I could go on and on and on and on...
When I finally figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up (which was a lot harder than it sounds), I went to law school. Now I am a litigator--the scariest kind of lawyer. ;) Before law school, I had a series of socially-conscious jobs I enjoyed that usually let me pay my bills on time.
Due to all of my responsibilities, I have a tendency to go offline randomly and for irregular intervals. This is not a sign of lack of interest, only lack of time. I cannot always put the people in my life ahead of work: when the choice is mine I will always choose my people over my work, but I will not sacrifice the lives of my clients to do this, that is a dealbreaker.
If you have gotten this far, you should be congratulated! This also seems like a good place to mention that I do read the questions section of profiles, and hope you will read mine as well. That said, if you have answered any questions about open relationships or ploy in a way that says you are monogamous or looking for your one and only, I will certainly be asking about that in repose to any message received.
I've actually had a long term relationship with multiple people at once in the past, as well as just with a woman, so know that I am not just gay for your pleasure (which is sort of like being gay for pay, but less lucrative).
Please note: because of some of the elements of my profile (and if you are still reading I am certain you can name at least 3), I have a need to filter responses. So, I ask that if you message me you start with, "Squirrel!"
Back to the fun profile info: sometimes I take an evening off and go out to dinner even when I have far too much to do--I'm a rebel like that. I enjoy dancing and art, but do not indulge in either often enough. I'm a pop culture junkie. I will pay to see any movie (no seriously), but reserve the right to mock it afterward (except Armageddon - I will never watch that movie again...long story...). I like to frequent rock shows featuring my friends, but I'm also looking for new bands in need of loyal fans because my rock star friends live far away! Points if you're a musician of any stripe, double points if you're a film buff (this includes CLASSIC, INDIE, and INTERNATIONAL (Foreign) FILM).
I have been known to take off for faraway places at a moment's notice, however, these days I am respectful of my partner(s) and try to give advance notice. ;) I'm sassy but subtle, serious but playful, and have been called "the coolest combination of traditional and unorthodox."
I enjoy contradictions, enigmas, differences of opinion and variety. I enjoy a wicked sense of humor and I like to be teased, as long you understand that I am going to give as good as I get. And since all's fair in love and war, let's spar!
