My self-summary
Creative web guy into cult films, big bikes, sci-fi, games and electronic music. I run a film club, organise bike rides, own board and console games, read a lot and write the occasional online profile. I like to make things happen. The things I value most are good conversations with intelligent people, good booze, good food and really anything intellectually stimulating.

I admit that I'm terrible at writing these things.

Looking for a Clementine from Eternal Sunshine sans the memory wipe. Smart, free spirited and just fun to be with. Alternatively, just be someone smart and thoughtful, geek girls are awesome! Bonus points if you can pass the Voight-Kampff test.
I’m really good at
Figuring stuff out. Making great food. Listening. Talking. Getting things done. Techie / webby stuff.
The first things people usually notice about me
My accent and that I'm confident in a relaxed kind of way.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love it when people ask me what kind of music I'm into it. I usually have no idea how to answer that question, so I have some stock made-up genres; "yeah, I'm totally into acoustic disco and death jazz, you?" The more serious answer is that I enjoy a wide range of music, from electronic beats through prog rock, classical and even the occasional heavy metal.

Film is something I really enjoy and I have a large collection of favourites. Blade Runner, Delicatessen, Dark City, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, 28 Days Later, Donnie Darko, Star Wars (original trilogy), Citizen Kane, Alien + Aliens, 12 Monkeys, 2001, Deliverance, District 9, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fight Club, Idiocracy, Indiana Jones (original trilogy), Moon, The Name of the Rose, The Ninth Gate, Perfume, Primer, The Quiet Earth, Solaris, really too many to mention but most anything by the Coen brothers, Quentin Tarentino, Stanley Kubrick and David Lynch, and most anything with a non-comic sci-fi bent.

Broadcast television sucks, but I do enjoy some binge TV shows, like Breaking Bad, The Wire, Game of Thrones and Walking Dead. iView is also great for catching a documentary or the latest Dr Who.

When it comes to books it's usually hard sci-fi and high concept fiction mixed with the occasional classic. William Gibson, Arthur C Clarke, John Scalzi, Vernor Vinge, Phillip K. Dick, Roger Williams are the kind of authors I generally like. Recently read Ready Player One which I loved, and right now Monkey by Wu Ch'eng-en.
The six things I could never do without
Life would be greatly diminished without these things:

Adventure
Stimulating conversations
The company of friends
Good food
My motorbike
The Internet
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Solving the world's problems. I care a lot about social justice and inclusion issues. My next adventure. How, where, when and with whom. Board and card games. Sex and relationships. Why most of my profile visitors are from far away countries.
On a typical Friday night I am
Relaxing at home or catching up with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I prefer weird people over normal people because I find normal boring. I'm pretty geeky when you get right down to it. I like science and technology, but also history, art and culture. I own dice with more than six sides. I watch documentaries. I can be a bit impatient with people I find boring or stupid. I know very little about football. Okay, that's a few things.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 30–42
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You find my profile interesting and want to meet someone in real life. You're interesting, not mainstream, can talk about more than just your job (unless your job is really, really interesting).

Extra points if you're confident, assertive and know what you like. Or if you're weird and would be interesting to get to know. Bonus points if you're a gamer girl or like sci-fi.

I'm easy to talk to. Go ahead, send me a message.
