My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Distilling myself down into a few paragraph, I don't know about that. I'm an Aggie with deep roots in College Station. Politically, I have liberal libertarian leanings, can't stand to listen to what has become of talk radio, but consume information across the spectrum. I enjoy other people's opinions, but prefer them to be fact based. I like spirited, challenging conversation, and that almost requires a difference of opinions. A conversation in which two people totally agree makes for some weak tea. Skeptical but not cynical. Maybe a little too interested in solving problems, one of the smartest things I ever heard was the advice that "If you haven't been asked for a solution, don't give it." I've taken it to heart and hope that I've learned not to try to solve someone's problems when all they want is a sympathetic ear
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working way too much, it seems that there is always something left undone at work, and I like to feel useful. I've never been a strict "get there at eight and clock out at five sharp" person. I'm trying to spend more time cycling, gardening. Oh and watching TV, isn't that what people do?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Seeing issues or problems from multiple angles. Cooking for 2-20. Knowing where I'm going when driving.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books, I don't get to read nearly as much as I'd like. 3-4 books a month wasn't uncommon for me, now it's significantly less. I've been liking new fiction from Richard K Morgan, in non fiction I've been slowly making my way through Thinking Fast And Slow by Daniel Kahneman.
TV, I've never watched a minute of "reality" tv and plan to keep it that way. I'm mourning the passing of Walter White. I live the IT Crowd, so that makes me smile. Looking forward to more Sherlock and Game of Thrones, they can't make those fast enough for me.
Movies,- I hate going to movies alone, so I don't go to the movies all that often. I'm game for anything but giant robots beating on each other.
Music, like any child of the 70s, the music of my youth will always resonate with me. Rush, Queen, Floyd, etc. Pandora is a lot of fun, it sometimes plays something that I've never heard before but find catchy.
Food, I fit the dictionary definition of an omnivore. Love ethnic/fusion food. I think the new wave of food trucks is a delight, and support them as often as I can.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
my mobile personal computer (smart phone)
good cheese.
good coffee.
good wine
good beer
McDonald's french fries.
the sound of a pretty woman's laughter.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I think about how long it's been since I've had someone to look forward to coming home to. Sometimes I feel I've forgotten how to do that, how to look forward to five o'clock and be excited to leave.

I have two very good friends that I have deep conversations with... the nature of reality, the meaning of life, God, eternity, the definition of good and evil, how far down the rabbit hole really goes. We also talk about Star Wars.

Oh, and WORLD DOMINATION of course :)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working too late, eating standing up in my kitchen, probably whatever I can rummage from the fridge, slapped between two pieces of bread.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You can handle authentic free flowing conversations, that effortlessly shift from one topic to another. I'm not looking to hop into bed with someone, but like exploring women, getting to know them, making them smile, becoming friends. If you've actually read this far, you should know that I don't initiate contact very often, if you've made it this far you should say hi :)
