My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like food that feels like artwork, music that takes me out of myself, unexpected occurrences that turn into vignette adventures and meeting remarkable people.

I am someone who craves good conversation over and above anything else and, needless to say, I’m on here to encounter people, not bodies.

I cannot stand the mundane. I cannot abide by apathy or cynicism. Really, I am an optimist heady with the idea that the compassion of humanity will prevail against systems built to destroy it.

I’m well versed in the political states and the state of politics. I can promise lithe, robust conversations and/or utter silence if you happen to be a social conservative. Even the best of us have our limits.

Also? I’m not a morning person, but if we can sleep through to the afternoon, you’ll never need to know that.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’m restless in my search for new ways to use computers. This year that includes manufacturing Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality gaming devices. Yes, that is just as incredible as it sounds.

For 2014 I will be focused on building and balancing.

To generate wealth I’m a web developer. I freelance at the moment which, while it offers me independence, means I must expand. Lucky for me, learning is my everything! I'm working with strategies for moving from being a service provider to a vendor of products.

As a result of all this I am mentoring through a company called Thinkful and I’m involved with a NZ project that runs workshops for school kids on how to code.

One of my startups has me helping painter and illustrators who specialize in erotic and kinky content bring their artwork to people hungry for interesting and engaging art.
Feel free to ask for a link to my site! But be prepared: it's seriously NSFW.

I've recently gotten into speculating on cryptocurrency futures. Holy crap, it's like something out of a cyberpunk novel. The scifi future is here.

The balancing is the hard part. I love what I do and so it has a tendency to envelop me. I’ve begun focusing on finding new ways to satiate and leave my life contented. This includes, but is not limited to, martial and creative arts. Mantis boxing and learning to sketch, respectively.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
People. Deconstructing and reconstructing societies, rights, laws.

Emotional literacy and narrative discussion. I enjoy obscure things because they are a rarity in the shelves and shelves of the mass-produced. I like knowing where things came from, knowing how they work and who loved them enough to create them. Everything has echoes of the people who it has passed through – whether owners or creators. The more unique the object, the better story it tells.

Currently reading a book about NZ society during WWI.

Scratch that. I'm now reading "I Shall Not Die", a book about Titokuwaru's war. I'm catching up on NZ history.

Anything with a script by Mamet
I watch a lot documentaries

Loving listening to The National at the moment.
Grooving on Fella Kuti while I work.
Just discovered an Australian rock back called The Jezabels. They are awesome.
I also like ambient-flavoured stuff. On another okc users recommendation I started listening to Soap And Skin. Really like them.

I'm really enjoying Jonn Gomm and Anais Mitchell at the moment. Anais Mitchell is like an indie Dolly Parton crossed with Neil Young.

I tend to trawl netlabels for interesting new music. Netlabels are really good for electronica.

I'm currently learning how to play a couple of Calexico songs on guitar.

I'm really enjoying Aucklands live music scene at the moment. I'm always looking for something a little different, and I keep stumbling across interesting new bands.

On a typical Friday night I am

Most often socialising with friends and dancing.
Weeks are busy, so friday night is for adventures.
Maintaining my friendships is priority for me, so I make time to socialise on weekends. I also really like to meet new people as well.

Occasional latin dancing. I kinda like salsa and bachata.

Sometime I'll stay in and work. Either on a screenplay or a web project. Sometimes I'll stay in on fridays and spend quality time with my guitar.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When I think nobody is watching, I look at copies of Womans Weekly for celebrity gossip.
