My self-summary
I love whiskey, kittens, well-commented code, ridiculous haircuts, glitter, mixtapes, cured meats, goats, meeples, manicures, cephalopods, and good coffee.

Once upon a time I seriously considered going for my PhD in philosophy, but decided to write code for a living instead. Now I'm a front-end web developer at an advertising agency in Manhattan. I'm an omnivorous gamer - tabletop RPGs, boardgames, card games, Xbox Live, iPhone games, whatever.

I also love music, especially live music. There's at least a band or two I like from nearly every genre, but I'm not really one of those "I like everything" people - I'm adventurous, but picky.

I'm a feminist, so if you think that's a weird or bad thing to be, we probably won't get along.
What I’m doing with my life
My New York is a magical fantasy land, full of fancy cocktails and improbable foodstuffs and insane friends with many talents. I love it here and spend a lot of time out and about, finding interesting things to do - burlesque shows, science lectures, theatre, dance, indie movies, comedy, new bands, book signings, whatever.
I’m really good at
I'm good at being more-or-less functional on very little sleep. I know more about IE6 bugs than I ever thought I would. I make pretty kickass cornbread.
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair gets a fair amount of attention. Also, I am fat, sassy, queer, and I wear a lot of black.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My taste according to Netflix:

- Visually-striking Imaginative Sci-Fi & Fantasy
- Mind-bending Foreign Horror Movies
- Cerebral Fight-the-System Documentaries
- Critically-acclaimed Dark Dramas
- Understated Psychological Thrillers
- Classic Scary Mad-Scientist Movies
- Post-Apocalypse TV Shows
- Witty Space-Travel Comedies
- Quirky Independent 20th-Century Period Pieces

And here are a couple super-favorites:

- Movies: Brazil, Dr Strangelove, Harold & Maude
- TV: Twin Peaks, Star Trek: TNG, The Wire
- Authors: William Gibson, David Foster Wallace, Patrick O'Brian
- Music: The Protomen, Skinny Puppy, Andrew Bird
The six things I could never do without
Hot sauce, epistemology, eyeliner, cheesy sci fi, black jeans, whimsy
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I wonder if I could get away with having cats in my no-pets apartment.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing some totally awesome shit. You should join me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am afraid of street sweeper trucks.
I’m looking for
  • Guys and girls who like bi girls
  • Ages 27–45
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You think I sound awesome and want to hang out, you are looking for a striker for your 4E D&D game, or you know of an event in NYC that I would totally love. Or if you have an high-quality dog or cat for me to befriend.

I'm already seeing someone, so I'm more interested in friend dates right now than date dates. But date dates aren't totally out of the question.

Please don't bother messaging me if you're homophobic, transphobic, racist, misogynist, or any of that bullshit. Life's too short.
