I am balanced, secure, and realistic.

My Self-Summary

Some trees do well in sunlight and grow quickly. Maples persist in the shadow of other trees. They conserve and wait, thriving on little, slowly becoming taller and stronger until they become the predominate trees in a climax forest. They can be found growing in the cold, wet, rich soils of the American Northeast. Chopped down, their wood - fine grained, strong, but slightly brittle - is used to form the frames of houses.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a lawyer, and I make money from the state for assisting the poor and downtrodden in their petty squabbles with other poor and downtrodden who they have children with.

Yes, many of the people who view my profile are potential clients.

I’m really good at

Making paper planes.

The first things people usually notice about me

My thumb. I have a second thumb on my right hand.

No honestly, I have no idea. I don't actually have a second thumb on my right hand. There is a famous Bollywood star who has an extra thumb though.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books - We Were the Mulvaneys by J.C. Oates, Starmaker by Stapledon, Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver, Kurt Vonnegut anything, geeky science fiction and fantasy novels. Watchmen by Moore and Gibbons. Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi. Peterson's Guide to the Eastern Forests plus any number of associated field guides, Long Walk to Freedom: The Autobiography of Nelson Mandela, Structure of Scientific Revolutions, The Selfish Gene. I read a lot.

Movies - Ghost in the Shell, The Last Picture Show, "Un Coeur en hiver". Monty Python anything. Any stupid Adam Sandler movie. Recently enjoyed "The Wrestler" and had a good time with a date at "He's not that into you."

Music - Morrissey, Jonathon Coulton, Coldplay, REM, Rush, Pink Floyd, Beethoven's Ninth, ABBA, AC/DC.

The six things I could never do without

Affection, books, my computer, gentle rolling hills to hike through, NPR in the morning, the support of my eleven siblings, and sometimes pie

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Memes.

On a typical Friday night I am

Going to bed early so I can be up for an all day hike on Saturday. Or maybe on a date. Or maybe playing some board games.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

My father is a dark skinned Italian, and when I was very young I used to tell people not to mess with me because my daddy would get them. He had black power and a biiiiggg weiner.

It was the 60s, okay?. Black power was cool.
