My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I moved to NYC from Michigan 5 years ago to work in nonprofit, and after toiling in management for too long, I am finally doing it. It is great, and frustrating, then inspiring, then soul-crushing. And repeat.

I like to tease people. If you can laugh at yourself we will get along well. Laughing at myself is one of my favorite hobbies.

I won't agree with you to avoid conflict, but I also won't mock you for believing something I don't - at least not to your face:)

Weekend brunch is crucial to happiness.

I like guys who are comfortable taking control and making decisions/plans, but are comfortable letting me take control too. Let's not get caught up in what we "should" do or how we "should" live. Let's just figure it out together.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Learning a lot at my new job.
Volunteering at my neighborhood park.
Spending some late afternoons at the gym and early evenings in the kitchen trying to make something tasty.
And I am frequently called upon to organize and facilitate my friends lives. So if you need someone to help you get your life together - I can do that. But we can't date.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Sarcasm, problem-solving, procrastinating, laughing, dancing, putting people at ease, charming your parents, organizing, making a to-do list, admitting that I was wrong or made a mistake (this took some work - see how committed i am to personal growth?) being self-aware.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This has to be a physical trait right? How about my face? Probably that, yes. I guess you might start at the bottom, in which case I would say my feet.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: To Kill A Mockingbird, Charlotte's Web. Does no one else on this site read for entertainment? I read mysteries and trashy romance novels. If you like reading for literatures sake - that is awesome. I wish I could be more like you.

Movies: Good Will Hunting, Juno. I'll watch anything except horror and Jim Carrey.

TV: I don't want to spend my life in front of a television, so I try not to get committed to any show. I have favorites and they are girly. It's cool - I'll watch them online when you're not around:)

Music: A great melody and/or beat. I like to dance. In my underwear. Wanna see:)

Food: I'll try anything once - I try to eat fresh & local. Just started a CSA share for summer veggies that I'm really excited about!

Update: not as excited about my CSA right now. So. Much. Lettuce.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Air conditioning - I'm happy to sweat when I am outside doing something active, but I very much dislike being hot indoors. It probably has something to do with growing up in the icebox of the nation.
Time to myself - I love people, but in order to keep myself sane I have to spend some time alone.
My girlfriends - I love them, they are necessary.
Pedicures - ugly feet are gross.
Books - I have a kindle and that is fine for some books, but I love to turn pages, smell the ink, crease the spine.
Here comes the cliché: inspiration.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to make my profile more clever.
Making sure I learn the lesson the first time.
The pros and cons of dog ownership.
Why Republicans hate women.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm hanging out with my friends after the gym, but how about what I'd like to be doing? I'd like to be checking out a new restaurant and/or bar, going to the theater, riding the cyclone at Coney Island, taking a cooking class, playing air hockey (I'm awesome at air hockey - fantastic hand-eye coordination), taking a dance class, learning how to rock climb.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Private...hmmmm...I'm not that private when it comes to info about me. I'll tell you more than I probably should.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are fun, and like a challenge.
You don't take yourself too seriously.
You care about your health more than your appearance (but you care about that at least a little).
Oh - you NEVER wear skinny jeans, and ALWAYS let people off the train before you enter.
