My self-summary
Ahh, OkCupid: "the poor man's". We meet again.

Hola :)
I'm Marina.

In the past few years, I have:
-Spent many a year at UC Davis
-Had to add more pages to my passport (26 countries and counting!)
-Won a poker tournament
-Officiated a marriage
-Become an aunt
-Donated my hair
-Paid off my student loans (!)

I feel just as comfortable in a pajama onesie as I do in a cocktail dress and heels.

I drive a hybrid, I say "cookie batter" and not "cookie dough," and I will always choose chocolate over vanilla.

Also: As > Giants, but 49ers > Raiders
What I’m doing with my life
I'm in my 7th year of teaching, and I love it!
I also host a weekly pub trivia quiz... think you can hold your own?
And I love spending time with my nephew (and soon-to-arrive niece!) as much as possible.
I’m really good at
grammar, trivia and board games, explaining things, Spanish, packing at the last minute, working under pressure, sleeping on moving vehicles
The first things people usually notice about me
-I have the world's best last name
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Here's 3 in each category:

Books: Life of Pi, The Help, The Hunger Games

Movies: Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Elf, The Patriot

TV: Judge Judy, The Big Bang Theory, New Girl

Music: Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Ed Sheeran (so...basically, pasty white dudes)

Food: I'll try anything, but I can sometimes be a bit picky. Thai is a fave. And I'm a ceviche fanatic!
The six things I could never do without
1) my mom. She's the best!
2) really, really cold water.
3) travel. I already told you about my extra passport pages, right?
4) tiger milk tea from Quickly. It's my guilty pleasure.
5) the Oakland A's
6) a comfy bed
I spend a lot of time thinking about
-Learning how to drive a stick shift
-Adopting a dog
-Competing on a game show (amazing race anyone?)
-Why I'm irrationally afraid of bees
-Where I'm going to travel next
On a typical Friday night I am
Anything and everything! Dinner, an epic board game night, chaperoning a school dance, seeing a play/show, softball, relaxing at home...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I still play my Sega Genesis. What can I say? Sonic the Hedgehog and I have a connection; it's deep and it's real.

Aaaaaand I maybe haven't seen any of the Star Wars movies.
You should message me if
All in all, I just want to find someone who's compatible with me. I'm not necessarily going to jump into a relationship on date 2, but I'd like the guy I'm with to be ready and available for a real relationship. Like dogs and cats? Fab. Do you know the difference between "your" and "you're"? Love it. Think you can beat me in a game of Boggle or Words with Friends? Bring it on. Feel like going on an adventure? Yes, please! Will you eat the lemon and orange Skittles for me? I think we'd get along.

And last but most importantly, are you honest, funny, inquisitive, passionate, and think that teachers are sexy?

Message me! I promise I'll try not to bring any grading along with me on our date :)

I can't read the name "Aaron" without thinking "A-A-Ron," and if you know why, then you should definitely message me.
