My self-summary
I am fanatical about scuba, swimming, diving, marine biology, coral reef ecology, oceanography, and anything else having to do with the ocean or ocean life. I love the ocean and ocean life more than anything.

I am amicable, solitary, and logical
What I’m doing with my life
My life could be called simple, which I would take as a compliment. I am currently living on a small boat, which I own. I live in Fiji in a very rural area. I'm listed here as living in Somosomo, but that's a fallacy. I had to choose a town, so I chose Somosomo. I don't go into town much, and almost never go into Suva (Fiji's only 'city'). I am a very solitary person. I am not seeing anyone, nor do I have any desire to do so.

I work as a research scuba diver. I've worked with various groups and live-aboards, primarily in connection with coral and coral reef ecology. I have contemplated becoming a marine biologist, but I know numerous biologists and invariably they do less actual diving than what I am currently doing as a research diver. I love diving and being immersed in ocean life, so my current work is an absolute dream job. I have no problem working for extremely long periods of time, because when I am not working I am swimming and diving anyway.

I spend my time swimming, scuba diving, and hiking. I do very little else.

I’m really good at
Swimming, snorkeling, diving, scuba (I am certified as a master diver, among other things), running in soft sand, thinking, piloting a boat, reading, hiking, identifying fish by scientific name,
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told I look like Rachael Leigh Cook

First things people notice about me: Short, perpetualy smiling, very dark eyes, tanned

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: I have a voracious appetite for books. I read fiction and non-fiction constantly, an absolute minimum of one book a week. I do not have favourites, per se. However I do love books about, naturally, the ocean. I read more non-fiction than fiction.

Movies: I don't watch a tremendous amount of movies. My favourites are, predictably, Finding Nemo and The Life Aquatic. I also really like The Incredibles, The Hudsucker Proxy, The Royal Tenenbaums, Austin Powers, Shaun of the Dead, Back to the Future.

Television: I don't watch television at all, and haven't for a number of years. My TV doesn't get any television channels. However I love Futurama, The Simpsons, and Firefly.

Music: Hawaiian, pacific island, bossa nova, big band, Quincy Jones' perfect combination of the aforementioned two, jazz (the classic artists like Miles Davis, and the classic vocalists like Ella Fitzgerald), orchestral (modern era, romantic era, not baroque or the 'classical' time period. Dvorak and Rimsky-Korsakov yes, Handel and Mozart no.)

Food: Vegetarian. Any raw fresh vegetables, beans, rice, fruit especialy rare or tropical fruits, salads as long as there is no salad dressing, bread especialy extremely sour sourdough bread, water. I have a very natural diet. I only eat pre-packaged food once or twice a year, if that. I haven't been to a restaraunt (including fast food) for a number of years. Whole raw vegetables are the mainstay of my diet.

The six things I could never do without
An ocean with a thriving coral reef, an abundance of fresh vegetables, clean water with no additives, a quiet and secluded tropical outdoor area to myself (like a lagoon), rain
On a typical Friday night I am
Swimming or scuba diving. Night dives are great.
