"Seeing someone" is accurate...

After graduating from college in summer 2011, I moved to Richmond from Florida for a job as an analyst in the financial sector. I've been described as "nerdy", "weird", "fantastic", and "magical". I don't know why I was described as magical. I enjoy novel experiences and insightful conversations. I listen to music that nobody has heard of and eat food that nobody likes. I like to stay off the beaten path and explore cities. I love solving problems and coming up with clever ideas. I want to get a cat but my roommate is allergic. I can talk for hours about urban planning, although I'll be surprised if anyone ever wants to. I like bad jokes, but I like good jokes more. I've always been an overachiever. I constantly make random observations about the things around me. I fit the characteristics of an INTJ personality type, but It's unlikely that I'm like anyone you've met before.

In college, I studied math, finance, Spanish, and Russian. Now I work in credit card analytics, where I develop strategies to prevent fraud. I also recently bought a house - I'm living in one room and renting out the others. We'll see how this goes. Beyond my job, I'm trying to get more active. I've been going to the gym more often and it's making me feel a lot better. I've also been breaking various parts of my house in the name of "home improvement". I'm considering joining Habitat for Humanity to get some practice before destroying my own property anymore... yeah, all the wrong reasons but charity is charity, right?

Down the road I'm interested in going to grad school for Transportation and Operations Research.

I guess I should go with math or languages. This makes my dating profile seem more like a resume. Hmmm... I'm also good at Monopoly and forming strong opinions about pointless things!

A few of the most enjoyable books I've read in the past few years: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, The Drunkard's Walk, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. I also love anything dystopian like 1984, A Handmaid's Tale, Brave New World, Hunger Games, etc. And does anybody my age not like Harry Potter?

My favorite movie is Hot Fuzz, a British police spoof. I typically enjoy anything that doesn't insult my intelligence or bore me.

I don't watch a lot of TV... in fact, I don't even have cable. However, I do like the animated sitcoms: The Simpsons, Futurama, and South Park (and sometimes Family Guy). I'm also a fan of some BBC shows like Dr. Who and Sherlock.

I like tons of types of music, from mainstream pop to symphonic metal to rap to traditional Russian songs. Not country, though.

I'm a fan of food. If, like me, you don't consider mushrooms to be food, then you can say that I like all food. I'm an adventurous eater - I'll enthusiastically try anything, even if it sounds gross. My most recent example is roasted Colombian ants at a company potluck.

How to improve things. Whenever I encounter any system - be it a transportation network, a bureaucracy, or a computer program - I first try to understand it, then I try to make it better. I suppose that's how I ended up becoming an analyst.

Depends on how tired out I am from the week. The spectrum ranges from hanging out with friends somewhere to messing around on the internet and sleeping.
