Most of America's problems can be solved with good eye contact and
a firm handshake.
What I’m doing with my life
Biking my way around East Nashville, training for a half marathon
(or two), graduate school-ing, rocking cheap sunglasses, looking
forward to the magical leaf or heart that appears on my latte,
listening to This American Life and Savage Love podcasts, traveling
back up north occasionally to visit my adorable niece and nephew.
I’m really good at
Making omelets and coffee, being an active listening, trying new
things at least once, deadlifting, eye contact, passing obscure
movie quotes off as my own, remembering birthdays, being mistaken
for Peter Pan (didn't everyone used to have dreams that they could
fly?), being a really compassionate friend.
The first things people usually notice about me
My energy...or my hair?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have a special place in my heart for Seymour Glass, and I really
can't wait for the three posthumous Salinger books to be released.
If pressed to name my three favorite books, I would have to say:
Nine Stories, Written on the Body, and Ghost
My favorite movie of all time is Stand by Me. Other good ones are:
Garden State, The Hours, Shawshank Redemption, Almost Famous, Last
of the Mohicans and Angels in America.
I love Ryan Adams, Coldplay, Modest Mouse and discovering good, new
music; however, I could listen to Rachmaninoff all day and have a
penchant for pop music.
The six things I could never do without
2) Zappos...because who doesn't love shoes?
3) My favorite people
4) Atlas (my bike)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Figuring out the most effective way to escape Nashville in the
event of the zombie apocalypse (have I mentioned that I try not to
take myself too seriously?)
How I'll one day make an excellent lesbian housewife (I'll iron
your shirts if you kill the bugs!)
Oh yea, and all of my grad school reading
On a typical Friday night I am
Finding any excuse to wear my orange skinny jeans, which usually
means quality time with my friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I almost repeated the first grade.
You should message me if
You're kind, independent, passionate, appreciate humor and beauty
in the small things, and seek laughter and meaningful conversation
all within the same breath.
