My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like change to be slow most of the time, but still life's not good without change. Some seven, eight years ago, I decided that I will become good at accomplishing things, good at changing the world for the better. And I did, though it did take three, fours years to learn. Now I've decided that I will learn to do that and have lots of fun as well. And I have no doubt that I'll learn that too.

I care deeply about the world and other people, though some of it I hide beneath analytic mask.

I love good food, wine, conversation, new ideas, and sex.

I'm intense at what I do, though my friends say that I've become more mellow with age. I get really immersed in whatever I'm working on (or thinking about) and it can be pain in the ass to get my mind off of it.

If you spend any time with me, be prepared to learn a thousand things about urban structure you never knew existed.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working to build Helsinki a better city, taking care of my family, and building a career in research. I have three wonderful kids who keep me busy.

I also enjoy cooking five course meals, eat and drink with friends and loved ones.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at analyzing the world around me, and myself too. I see how things are connected and often understand relationships between things that are not obvious. Perhaps that's one reason why I'm a good researcher but that good of a politician. I'm pretty good at changing the world for the better, though.

I'm really good at looking people into their eyes when talking to them. Some people say it's scary, though I think it's polite. Besides, with the right person, it's fun to be a bit scary.
The first things people usually notice about me

My loud voice, my opinions, and a great laughter.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Old time favorites include much science fiction and fantasy, for example Lord or the Rings, Sandman, Handmaid's tale, Shikasta series, the works by Asimov, Lem, Strugatski, and Russ.

Much of what I read nowadays is fact rather than fiction. I find that nowadays reading about the history of spice or about power and economic organization for the second millennium teases my imagination more than most fiction books.

On tv side, I've loved Buffy, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, and Gossip Girl, True Blood, Game of Thrones, Whitecollar, Once upon a time, Doctor Who, etc. Usually I really love stories with interesting personalities and interpersonal dynamics and a touch of mystery. I'm not particularly interested in sitcom in any format.

I love good food and wine. There are some restaurants in Helsinki I absolutely adore, but mostly I make better food myself when I have the time. I'm known for cooking ten course meals for my friends. Chef & Sommelier is my current favorite restaurant. I would love to go out and try the english afternoon tea at Salutorget, though haven't had the chance to do so yet.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
city life, sex, my family, great food and wine, and books. If you want to know the sixth, you'll have to ask.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
the world and how to make it a better place. Trying to understand how it works and all the things that affect each other.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
home cooking for family, putting kids to sleep, and hopefully relaxing with a new episode of my favorite tv-show.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I love reading about economic history.

You can go on a tirade about how the crusades changed the cultural evolution of the middle east or a number of other similar esoteric subjects. If you can drop yourself into a discussion about almost anything and find something interesting to say.

And especially, if you would love to meet a person who can and likes to do that for many, many discussions and is always willing to learn more.
