My self-summary
I feel like kind of a goon filling this out about myself...

I like to laugh and make other people laugh. I think a lot about the way we live our lives is pretty funny, so I can't help making a joke out of it.

Like most people, I really like music. I used to play guitar and sing in a punk band and I really miss it. Currently working on some folksy, americana type music and hoping to find some people to play with out here so I can get back to performing.

Learning is one of the most important things to me in life. It's one of the few things you have 100% control over so I like to utilize that as much as possible. I LOVE the library, especially the stacks.

Oh, and riding my bike around the city is one of the most fun things around.

Um, that's probably enough for now...
What I’m doing with my life
Learning about a new city/state/part of the country, looking for new and fun spots. Undergoing a major alititude adjustment. (Get it?)

Also looking to back to school for a second undergrad degree before moving on to grad school.
I’m really good at
Dancing the Dance of Life. It's not terribly unlike The Charleston.
The first things people usually notice about me
"Real wise-ass, this one."

Generally my sense of humor. I get complimented/chastised about my laugh on a fairly regular basis.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read a lot, I usually have about 3 books going at a time. Here's some favorites, in little or no order.

Books: Down and Out in Paris and London, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Master and Margarita, God Bless You Mr. Rosewater, Notes From Underground, A Song of Ice and Fire, Lord of the Rings, The Name of the Wind, A People's History of the United States, The Whiskey Rebels, A Conspiracy of Paper, Ill Fares the Land, Oil!, The Jungle, Frankenstein, Survivor, The Sirens of Titan, Power and Protest, Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, Another Roadside Attraction, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Black Elk Speaks, Journey to the Center of the Earth, The Violent Bear It Away.

Authors: George Orwell, Mikhail Bulgakov, Kurt Vonnegut, Carson McCullers, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, George R.R. Martin, David Liss, J.R.R. Tolkien, Howard Zinn, Tony Judt, Jules Verne, Flannery O'Connor, Alexandre Dumas, Patrick Rothfuss, Tom Robbins.

Movies: Mostly comedies and satirical stuff. Some favorites are Rushmore, Election, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, PCU, Groundhog Day, High Fidelity, What About Bob?, The Big Lebowski, Dead Man, etc, etc, you get the picture.

Music: I mostly listen to Punk and stuff like that. Apparently I was supposed to grow out of this at some point and start listening to droll, lackluster indie rock, but it never took. My favorite bands in that vein are Hot Water Music, Lawrence Arms, Dillinger Four, Leatherface, The Brokedowns, Casket Lottery, Small Brown Bike, Banner Pilot, Strike Anywhere, Alkaline Trio, The Flatinliners, etc.

I also like Classic Rock, old Motown era music, and pretty much anything that falls under the category "Alternative Rock", though not "hard rock." I like Hip Hop quite a bit too, like Mos Def, Talib Kweli, POS, A Tribe Called Quest, Atmosphere, etc. Also, Jackson 5 is where it's out.

I am definitely "Pro" food.
The six things I could never do without
I'm kind of a minimalist...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
History, politics, music, literature, going back to school, travel and how I wish I could afford more of it, how to make my bike run more smoothly, how much I want to get a dog.
On a typical Friday night I am
Being a lovable scamp somewhere, I suppose.

I'm pretty flexible. When I go out I prefer dive bars to clubs. I like going out to eat at new places, but staying in and just talking, cooking dinner, and watching a movie is great too. Also, I'm pretty up for almost any kind of live music.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
1. I host bar trivia two nights a week in Denver. Come find me, maybe I'll give you the anwers.

2. The Mindy Project is my guilty pleasure. Don't judge.

3. If we play Monopoly, I am the battleship. This is non-negotiable.
You should message me if
You like to laugh, want to show me a cool place to grab a beer, or just want to meet the new kid in town.
