I am constantly re-evaluating who I am, so bear with me.
As mentioned above, I am rather introspective most of the time. By
examining who *I* am, understanding what motivates *me*, there's a
better chance that I can understand those around me (understand
what choices they made differently and how that has shaped them
now). Plus, introspection makes it easier to figure out what I
truly want in any given situation early on so that I spend less
time fighting myself and more time enjoying when and where I am.
Yes.
Maybe as a result of this, I'm terribly scatterbrained. I often
misplace...everything, actually, but I find all of it again fairly
quickly these days. I'm also fairly clumsy, but pretty graceful in
my clumsiness. Blind as a bat without my glasses, yet I'm pretty
good at maneuvering blind. Not being able to see bothers me but
doesn't hinder me.
Roadtrips are
the best things in the world. I don't get to road trip as often as
I'd like since my roadtrip buddy is generally my dad (and thus
constrained by a regular 9-to-5 job and all that that entails), but
I take whatever I can get. I've roadtripped in nearly every
direction from my home, to the coasts and to places in between. I
love it. I just wish I had more time to explore.
I love to
learn, to
talk to
people, and to
laugh. I consider
honesty and
communication to be the most
important parts of any relationship; if you have both, both people
involved are much less likely to get hurt. I'm fairly eclectic and
love to
dabble. My
family and
friends are the
most important parts of my life.
Actually,
people
are an extremely important part of my life in general. In many
cases, I'd rather sit around with a group of people and just listen
than be forced to talk myself. I like to soak up the energy and the
emotions. One winter break I went to Wales and stayed above a pub
for three weeks and was able to come downstairs and just sit there
and watch all that is pub life. It was incredible.
Ask me any
question you like; I'll answer most
anything. I'm a very open person and will not lie on purpose (I
don't want to be a hypocrite, and I really dislike dishonesty, so
yeah).
Oh yes, and one more thing. While Republicans are lovely people
(more than half the people in my family are Republicans), I am not
one of them. I am not quite sure why OKC thinks I am, but if I am
then I've been ticking the wrong boxes the last 3-4 years. O;)
I just graduated from university, studying
math and
medieval studies (!). I
tutor primarily
right now, basically any math class at the university level, Latin
if they use me, and stats because they need me. My dream was to be
a high school math teacher overseas (
Europe or in a perfect world
England), but after
teaching high school over here I have reevaluated my dreams and
decided that I should try something more "adult" for now, like
being some sort of math consultant. I am currently applying to grad
schools so that I can get my masters in applied math. We'll see
where that leads. I also love to
travel so much!
My personality. Or maybe the hair. :)
Here are the general answers:
a)historical romance novels, hands down, and then historical
fiction in general (or just history period, really), sci-fi and
fantasy. Kelley Armstrong is my favorite author for now. Absolute
favorite: All That Matters by Elizabeth Mayne
b)romantic comedies and action flicks (think How To Lose A Guy In
10 Days, 10 Things I Hate About You, Indiana Jones, The Mist, etc).
Absolute favorite: Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley,
specifically for the scene when she tells off the absolutely
gorgeous Mr. Darcy.
c)mostly former Top 40s stuff, to be honest. Classical, of course.
I will try listening to anything, but on my own this is what I
would and do listen to. Absolute favorite: U2.
d)Indian,
Italian,
Mediterranean, Thai,
stir fry Absolute favorite: steak with
ginger soy sauce.
Everything and nothing. My family. My friends. Email. You.
Hanging out with friends or with family at home. Catching up on
American TV programming via peekvid or alluc (though my younger
brother actually managed to convince my parents to get cable, so
exploring that). Enjoying not working (since I work every night but
Friday and Saturday nights).
I fell in love with my
Functions of a
Complex Variable class. And my
Groups and Rings class, though
it was so much of an intro course that I still need to learn more
about that.
Also, it's hard for me to make eye contact with guys. I can talk
with guys, crack jokes, even flirt to a certain extent, but it is
really difficult for me to look a guy in the eye.
You want to talk to someone random. I say whatever comes into my
head, in the order that it comes in. (Disclaimer: the randomness
comes and goes, but I do enjoy talking to people regardless.) I
love to
listen to people talk
because it shows me more of the world than anything else ever
could.
