I am not an orange, often serendipitous, and filled with meat!.

My Self-Summary

Grew up in Iowa, lived in Seattle where it rains, Chicago where it rained while I was there, Los Angeles (ok it was Irvine, but I went to clubs in LA sometimes) where it pretty much straight up flooded the year I was there, Denver where it was definitely raining when I left, and now I'm in DC (well near it anyway) where it has been raining since I arrived.

Fortunately I enjoy rain and hope to see more of it in the future.

I was the Kid that was bored in AP classes in high school, and so I didn't bother with college, well I went for a bit, but as it turns out they were just a more expensive rehash of things I already knew so I left.

Anyway... I worked for Amazon at more or less the height of the dot com era, did some consulting all over the place after that, I did a stint with the DoD where I was bored to the point of wishing I was the kind of person that could contemplate suicide (see how meta that was) but now I'm working for Verizon, which will hopefully turn out to be fun or interesting or failing that maybe they will at least let me fix some bugs or something worthwhile to society in general in return for money which I will use to buy stuff, nerdy stuff.

What I’m doing with my life

Just moved into an apartment here in Reston, not really doing anything, working, playing video games, probably start feeling out the dc area nightlife and stuff in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the back of my skull my subconscious is busy at work trying to unlock the secrets of the universe, if it goes ding I will let you know.

The first things people usually notice about me

If I'm dancing, they probably notice that first...

then (or otherwise) that I have hair and the hair that I have is long...

after that people generally start making shit up that really is more about them than it is about me, but I'll typically go along with it because honestly breaking through most people's bullshit just isn't worth it.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I like scifi, and science nonfiction stuff, goth/industrial/ebm music and for food I'm big on indian, thai, chinese, the sort of stuff you expect IT consultant types to eat...

If those sort of things aren't your thing, I might be willing to expand your horizons. :p

Oh and that being human show that was on BBC was amazing, so I'm assuming it won't get a second series, but it was good, you should go watch the hell out of it.

The six things I could never do without

Sometimes I wish the apocalypse would hurry up, because I am so god damned sick of worrying about things...

I mean I quit smoking, that wasn't even remotely challenging for me, I'm sure I'd survive without my really big tv, xbox, computer, fios, thai food, dvr, regular expressions and buffy dvds.

wait... no I'm sure I'd still find a use for the regular expressions, I'm keeping them and that is final.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

time.

No really.

I'm not certain but I think that the expansion of the universe has nothing to do with space, but rather, time.

See all these massive objects (like galactic clusters and stuff) are gravity wells, and we all know that time runs slower in a gravity well... so you have these little pockets of space where time is running slower, and between them large areas where it is running much much faster... and so like it isn't the space between us that is growing, it is the TIME.

then again, isn't that the same thing... :)

On a typical Friday night I am

I reserve the right to be doing just about anything on a Friday night and stupid questions on the internet can't stop me.

Most likely though, I'll be working late, then coming home and either playing video games or getting changed into more black than I wore to the office and heading to a nightclub to get my dance on.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
