Born in Israel and raised there (most of the time), I came to The States for graduate studies (in Political Science). I started graduate school fall of 2010 and am enjoying myself most of the time. I won't say there aren't any difficulties in this experience (or "challenges", as Americans like calling them). But hey, how will we ever feel the sweet taste of accomplishment without a difficulty or two on the way, right?

Graduate school. PhD program to be exact. Political Science to be precise. After I'm done with that? Quite a few years left so I try not to over think it. But I'll probably be looking for a research position.

Analyzing things, logically. I also think I'm a pretty good friend, but that's for my friends to say about me. I'm also a good listener (I think).

They might also notice a "slight" foreign accent. Some think it's German (surprisingly so, if you ask me).
I'll also pause sometimes (pretty rarely) in a middle of a sentence for several seconds. That's not a mental break, I'm just trying to remember the English word for whatever it is I'm trying to say. Usually I'll fail. By the way - the words that slip away in time of need are usually the simplest ones. Once it was "variable". Just try explaining your research without that word. Now that's a challenge.

I haven't really enjoyed books until I was in the military and then during the service I didn't have time to read any. So when I finished my service I started reading all of Meir Shalev's novels, which I really liked and still go back to every once in a while. Of course chances are you have no idea who he is so that's a bit of a moot topic.

Music I've loved since I was 2. There's a photograph (or maybe a vague memory of one) of me sitting next to a records player with headphones on. Mostly Israeli classics (Arik Einstein, Yehudit Ravitz, Matti Caspi, Kaveret, Shlomo Artzi, Gali Atari, Haparvarim, Shmulik Kraus, Yoni Rechter, Chava Alberstein...), but some of the western essentials also - Beatles, Paul Simon, Leonard Cohen... I'm sometimes in the mood for classical music also, but pretty light things usually. The important point here - music is really important to me.

TV shows - The West Wing, The Office, HIMYM, House, 30 Rock, Srugim (Israeli)...

Movies - The Shawshank Redemption, Stranger Than Fiction, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Footnote (Israeli), Broken Wings (Israeli)
