My self-summary
I just started this profile to hopefully meet some interesting and fun ladies.
What I’m doing with my life
Professionally, I'm a manager for a major retailer. I help control expenses, develop people and interact with customers among other things. I meet a lot of insane people, but it's a fun challenge, and I'm making good progress climbing the ladder.

In my free time, I play in an amateur baseball league throughout the spring and summer. My team plays about 30 games a year. The talent level includes mostly former college players and the occasional former professional. I also spend a fair amount of time working to stay in great playing shape.

I also have a small brewery in my garage where I brew beer with friends on a regular basis. I enjoy making quality handcrafted beers and experimenting with new styles and flavors. Drinking them is pretty good too. Hang out with me enough, and I might just brew your favorite kind and put it on tap.
I’m really good at
hitting baseballs
brewing beer
mowing the lawn
solving problems
managing finances
reading quickly
getting stuff off the top shelf
creating excel spreadsheets
saying witty things (in person only, but not in emails on OkCupid apparently)
The first things people usually notice about me
is probably the beard. Let me know if it is something else.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books- I read a lot about baseball (Moneyball, anything by Baseball Prospectus or Bill James.) I also enjoy historical books about war. In fiction, I like Tom Clancy novels, and I recently read and enjoyed Atlas Shrugged.

Movies- I generally enjoy comedies and action movies, but I can be talked into watching most things once. Movies I have watched multiple times include Star Wars, Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, Terminator, Band of Brothers, 61, Dirty Work, Billy Madison, Donnie Darko.

TV- DVR has made watching TV much easier and I never watch anything live except sports. Shows on my DVR include South Park, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Two and Half Men, Simpsons, Family Guy, The Office, Friday Night Lights, Community, Futurama, Entourage, Hung. I also miss King of the Hill and Lost.

Music- You can basically break my musical tastes into rock/metal and country. A sampling of rock/metal bands I like includes 60s/70s stuff (Beatles, Black Sabbath, Boston, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, Cheap Trick, Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Journey, Tom Petty, Queen, Rolling Stones, Rush, Van Halen) to 80s (AC/DC, The Cult, Def Leppard, Guns N Roses, Metallica, Megadeth, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Scorpions, Tesla, Stevie Ray Vaughan) to 90s (Alice in Chains, Collective Soul, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Live, Nirvana, The Offspring, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Silverchair, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots). I think the 2000s have significantly fewer bands with lots of stuff I like, but Black Label Society, Muse and HammerFall all have plenty of songs I enjoy.

In terms of country music, I like some older stuff (Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Chris LeDoux) and most 80s/90s stuff (Garth Brooks, Clint Black, Alabama, Brooks & Dunn, Hank Williams Jr., Dwight Yoakam). With more recent country, I like a good majority of Texas Country artists, but I can't stand the stuff where it's just pop music calling itself country (Taylor Swift, Keith Urban).

Shows I have seen in the past year couple of years are Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Queensryche and Ozzy Osbourne. I would like to see some Texas country shows, but I don't have many friends that are interested in it.

Food- Over the last few months I've focused on trying to eat healthy, but I still enjoy all my old favorites. I'm a big fan of BBQ, chicken fried steak, Mexican food, seafood. Really, if it is some sort of meat prepared in some sort of delicious way, I'm in. If you can manage to throw in some melted cheese with it, even better. I'll try just about any food once.
The six things I could never do without
air conditioning
my dog
my friends and family
I spend a lot of time thinking about
- where I want to go in life and how I can get there
- how to do things more efficiently and effectively
- why people refuse to act rationally
On a typical Friday night I am
usually hanging out with friends, drinking a few beers and probably brewing more beer to drink later. And if my friends' girlfriends won't let them hang out, I go on a good run with my dog Shadow.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have 4 pet mice. I originally got them and set up a mouse racing/gambling event, but now I like to just let them run on their wheels and nibble on pieces of food. This isn't really a secret, but when I imagine women and mice, I think of old Tom and Jerry cartoons with the lady standing on a chair yelling "eek" as Jerry runs by. Just a heads up if you are that type of girl.
I’m looking for

  • Who are single

You should message me if
you are an attractive, fun lady who might enjoy getting a beer and having a conversation.
