My self-summary
By day I work in a medical laboratory, but I am not defined by my job. I also write fiction and have a couple of books and short stories out there and recently produced my first play. I am extremely honest, but also polite and considerate of others.

I enjoy sci-fi, dark fantasy, old sci-fi television shows etc. I like things that inspire me to think and wonder. I like music, usually leaning towards older and some newer rock, but I like to try different things. I like people who inspire me to move beyond the stuff I normally listen to, or to move beyond any of the normal stuff I do for that matter. I like art and sketch a little. I sometimes like plays and theatre, but only if they have a complete story with a beginning middle and end. I tend to go for things that are a little dark.

I've always been interested in science. I like to learn about other cultures and I try to be appreciative of other's beliefs, even if I don't share them.

I'm hoping to meet new friends. I like to hang out with people who are unique, intelligent, quirky, direct, and honest. I love people who inspire me and who make me laugh about things no one else would find so amusing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
American Horror Story,Almost Human, Bitten, Doctor Who, Covert Affairs, Copper, The Big Bang Theory, Wilfred

I've been listening to Jukebox the Ghost, Death Cab for Cutie, Bowling for Soup, Guster The soundtrack to Avenue Q, etc.

I also like older stuff, Beatles, singer/songwriter stuff, some local stuff, etc.

In my opinion, a good song is either catchy and sounds cool, or it has meaningful lyrics (they can be personally meaningful or they can tell a story or sketch out a character, etc). A truly memorable song has both.

I liked the book American God's by Neil Gaiman, The I am Not a Serial Killer series by Dan Wells, and The Dresden Files series. I also like comics and some of the old pulp characters. H.G. Wells is one of my favorite authors. I prefer short stories over long novels (They are also more challenging to write).
The six things I could never do without
Imagination. Wonder. Ideas. Humor. Availability of accurate information. Music.

Oh, you probably want to hear material things. My computer, mp3 player, a television, a shower.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The world. Stories. Images. Women. Science. Not necessarily in that order.
On a typical Friday night I am
Occasionally I go out with friends. Sometimes I work late.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I once shot a man in Reno just to watch him die. It really wasn't a big deal though. They have a whole tourist industry based on shooting people nowadays. It just isn't special anymore.
