My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello kind reader, I'd like to think I'm a friendly combination of traits; A playfully cynical hippy-hypocrite who watches the world with wide eyes, smiles a lot and on occasion hides in caverns, stalagmited by doubt. I have a pretty acerbic sense of humour and enjoy standing at a slight angle to this ridiculous culture.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'd like to contribute to a different cultural vision to the progress/growth/autonomy-from-nature story (but I wouldn't say I'm particularly living up to that).
In the past year or two I've:
-illustrated a series of children's books for eccentric Californians
-tutored teenagers
-studied a maths degree
-programmed for an image-production company
-made many an arty project but, of yet, no masterpieces
-stayed silent for 12 days
-felt connected to my environment, smiled at things and danced through days
-felt separate from it, glanced around and worried about my time
Between me and you kind reader, I've no idea what I'm doing.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
-Staring at trees
-Staring at tall buildings
-Playing devil's advocate
-Playing rock paper scissors
-Thinking systemically
-Thinking I can play piano
-Jumping up and falling down levels of self awareness
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
-I look a tiny bit like a lost child.
-I look around a lot. At birds or strange shapes or tall things or trees (tall, strange shaped things)
-my silly long hair, or if it's cut the zone of its naked absence
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Non-fiction: Godel Escher Bach, Brainstorms, Ishmael, The Gutenberg galaxy, Silent Spring, The World Without Us.
Currently obsessed with infinite jest (totally rhymes. don't pretend it doesn't). Interested in the spacialising (almost a word) of metaphors seen in Candide, the Anatomy of Melancholy or The Divine Comedy.
had a glorious time getting lost in Finnegans wake. Liked Drood.

Meeks Cutoff, Old Joy, Primer, Schizopolis, Last Train Home - partial to concept films with one word-titles they repeatedly mention in the script: "Did he touch the Sphere?", "It was in the Mist", "WE'VE GOT TO GET OUT OF THIS CUBE!"...

Arrested Development, Xavier Renegade Angel, Six Feet Under, Brass Eye, I'm Alan Partridge, Rick and Morty.
I'm also currently somewhat in love with Simon Amstell (or I was until he said I "looked like a scared, skinny boy" at a show).

Om, The Mountain Goats, Kendrick Lamar, Portico Quartet, Le Loup, Radiohead, Murcof, Wes Montgomery, Eliott Smith, Gang gang dance, Tom Waits, Kanding Ray, Shpongle, Killer Mike/Run the Jewels

listening to Alan Watts lectures soothes my mind

Food: Cook a mean rainbow trout surprise - the surprise is it's pretty good. Big Marmite fan. Like Camembert
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I'm a big fan of things that move and things that glow. I don't dislike buffalo. Partial to minimal techno. With soothing vibrations low
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
-Intentionality: What is voluntary and what is involuntary.
-Non-agricultural cultures
-Language games
-Social/ecological justice
-Whatever I'm looking at
-Bio-luminescent jellyfish (move/glow/are just generally fascinating)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
not that interested that it's friday night. I'm pretty happy trying any new thing. My dancing has been described as "Like an electric eel twitching in slow motion" - ball's in your court
