I'm originally from the South (Charleston, SC) and have lived all
over the US. Chronologically this is Chas (till college
graduation), San Francisco, Atlanta, New Orleans, (back to) Atlanta
(after hurricane Katrina), upstate NY (namely Saratoga), and now
Brooklyn, NY! I think this adds to my depth as an interesting and
dynamic guy. Maybe you will too.
My parents are still together and are the owners of three boys. I
am the youngest.
I love making my friends laugh. I am gifted at entertaining. I am
warm, thoughtful and passionate. I am charming and fun. I am tired
of saying "I am."
I recently started running and kind of love it. I'm also looking
for a tennis partner.
What I’m doing with my life
Finding fresh and exciting ways to say the same old stuff. Enjoying
the moments and then making to do lists to move my progress beyond
the day to day. Just started a blog of my experiences and
witticisms ((facebook wasn't enough! and I just don't get twitter).
I’m really good at
Cooking. Saying inappropriate things and then digging my way out of
the hole. Kissing. Calling it like I see it. Being funny!
Telling you that you look good in an outfit. Breaking up the
predictability of a situation by being a touch hyperbolic, in
humorous way. Dancing... yes, believe it. Rock climbing and
Being a nice hybrid of New York no-bullshit and down south inviting
The first things people usually notice about me
My staggeringly strong cologne. Okay, no it would be my icy-green
bedroom eyes. I have nice broad shoulders. I have a good mix
between street style and prep style. I have been told I'm more
attractive in person and I believe these people.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like scary movies just as much as art house flicks, and you'll
just as likely catch me reading Bolano as you would Gawker. I like
Murakami a lot. Too many books to mention. Michael Cunningham,
Colum McCann, Jonathan Franzen and even occasionally Dave Eggers
are some repeated reads. Jennifer Egan is pretty wonderful.
Movies: Love the Coen Brothers (No Country was my favorite, oh
wait, Big Lebowski is a tie), Chinatown, 8 1/2, Sideways,
Anchorman, Avatar, Braveheart, Broken Embraces, pretty much
anything with Paul Rudd in it, The Royal Tenenbaums (Love Wes
Anderson.), Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Dark Knight. Scary Movies:
Cloverfield, Paranormal Activity (the 2nd one was the best),
Quarantine, The Exorcism, Blair Witch Project, The Ring, The
Conjuring, etc! I don't care for gore but love scary movies.
Music: Kendrick Lamar, Hall and Oates, Death From Above 1979, Judas
Priest, Guns N Roses, The Knife, Gesaffelstein, Girl Talk, Arcade
Fire, James Brown, Bon Iver, OutKast, MF DOOM, The Shins, Interpol,
Grizzly Bear, LCD Soundsystem, The Smiths, D'Angelo, Jill Scott,
Erykah Badu, Clams Casino, Gershwin, Etta James (RIP), Coltrane,
Robert Johnson, Leadbelly, countless more.
The six things I could never do without
Chili peppers in any form
Oysters (all shellfish, really)
A good pen that feels sexy when you write
My most amazing and adorable dog, Lucy
A high quality chef's knife
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Rearranging words to be silly and or funny. Like if there was a
dating site for morons and it was called OKStupid. Also, the next
place I will be traveling to. What I will say to make people laugh
(my friends say I am an excellent ice breaker).
On a typical Friday night I am
Trapped beneath the crushing weight of my expectations. Okay, no,
maybe driving to a cabin in the mountains, or to the coast, or
flying somewhere for a 3 day weekend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have to say the number "17" out loud before I pee.
You should message me if
You like to wrestle. You are fiercely loyal and like to make out.
You enjoy affection and attention. You think for yourself and can
make decisions. As personalities go, you identify more with "spicy"
than "bland." You are not a flake (I've had some really annoying
