Life is an adventure. It is not meant to be spent waiting for others to say it's ok to have fun or to seize an opportunity. I've been known to climb mountains, backpack Europe, or travel across country on my own if I can't find a partner in crime. I have no problems going it alone, but it is always more fun to share adventures with company.
That's where you come in. I'm looking for someone who wants to experience everything life has to offer. Additional props to women who have unique talents or interests, a gift to gab, an interesting life story or spend time helping others. Elitists, conformists and Republicans need not apply (unless you're that rare non-elitist, non-conformist Republican. Just tell me Obama was born on this planet).

I'm an Iraq war veteran going to Tufts through the GI Bill while running a small non-profit organization. If I'm not studying or working, I'm trying to get into a random adventure. Hiking, biking, camping, skiing, anything outdoors. The White Mountains are my playground when being an international man of mystery isn't in the cards.

I'm good at trying new things, which leads to learning in general. I'm a great judge of character. I'm good at reading between the lines.

A girl handing out "free compliments" at the library noted that I have a confident stride. It's been confirmed by no less than three sources, so I'll take that one.

Movies: Braveheart, Slumdog Millionaire, historical movies, all the Boston movies, regardless of if they're good or not.
Books: mostly nonfiction, but I'm heavy into the Game of Thrones series. Other than that, lots of history, American history especially. Favorite reads: For Whom the Bell Tolls by Hemingway; Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell; Autobiography of Malcolm X, People's History of the United States
TV: Mostly HBO and a few AMC: Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Eastbound and Down, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Bill Maher.
Music: I'm a child of the 90's that grew up on 60's and 70's music. Bands I love: Dispatch, Bob Dylan, CCR, Biggie, Irish folk
Food:I'll try mostly anything. I eat Italian and Mexican a lot, but I'll do sushi, thai, Middle Eastern, anything really.

1: My family. Cliche as hell, but I actually think I believe it more.
2: Liquids: Water, lemonade, beer. In that order.
3: The internet. You may think this is a geek thing to say, but try going 24 hours without using it.
4: Mountains. I can't tell you anything the mountains can't.
5: HBO. I wish I could get just HBO and cut basic cable.
6: My wits

The meaning to life, how to leave my mark on the world, politics, plotting my next escape, finding inner peace. You know, all the stuff you're not supposed to talk about.

Either at a bar with friends or hanging out at someone's house. Aimless walks or bike rides around Boston are great when the weather is right.

I love Betty and the Jets and other cheesy Elton John songs. I can't help it, but I know I'm not alone.
