My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
So...trying to take a more active stance towards meeting people on this site despite my course load, but its not easy with 9 classes. So if I bookmark/favorite you and then not send you an email until many days/weeks later, it may have something to do with the fact that I just took 7 midterms in 2 weeks ;)

I moved to the DC area from the west coast to attend GWU's Physician Assistant program, which means that I will be able to practice by summer 2016. But until then I have very little time that isn't devoted to studying and I would love to spend it with someone special.

I love to read, anything from fantasy fiction to science and spirituality. A few of my favorite books are Watership Down by Richard Adams, In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, and the Tao of Physics by Fritjof Capra which changed the way I see the world. I love to travel, I have been around the world twice and my goal is to see all 7 continents, Antarctica is next.

My main passion has always been movies. I went to film school, I worked in LA as an editor, I saw Avatar at midnight because I didn't want to wait until the next day. I love dinner and a movie as a first date (after the coffee/drinks date of course), although I prefer to switch the order and see the movie first. You spend that time in the theater sharing a positive experience(assuming the movie was good, lol) and then you have a jumping off point at dinner to get acquainted.

I have 2 awesome dogs, Fox is a purebreed Shiba Inu, and Zoe is a St. Bernard and various other kinds mutt. Both are very friendly and love people.

So what kind of woman am I looking for? I like strong personalities, confidence, and someone who is emotionally mature and doesn't play games in relationships.

So that is me in a nutshell, if you would like to know more, you'll have to find out in person. I'll sign off with one of my favorite quotes:

"Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth -- more than ruin -- more even than death.... Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habit. Thought looks into the pit of hell and is not afraid. Thought is great and swift and free, the light of the world, and the chief glory of man."
Bertrand Russell
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I was a freelance editor in LA, but when the economy tanked the work started drying up I decided to find a new lot in life. I joined the National Guard as a medic and moved up to Northern Cali to be closer to my family. Now I'm here in the DC area going to school all day, every day, and study a lot. My time in the Guard is done.

Lately I've been planning my bucket list, which I hope to accomplish quickly enough to make several more bucket lists. My next 3 destinations are Machu Picchu (hopefully in May), Antarctica after grad school is over, and trekking to the Everest Base Camp the year after that. So a note to potential life-mates....if you want to come on any of those we may be a good match ;)
