My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Surfer-physicist.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an action nerd, and spend most of my time surfing, working on physics, or talking with friends. Surfing is simply the most fun you can have on this planet; there's nothing else like it. Physics, on the other hand, is the world's greatest puzzle. It's as if Mathematics is the secret language of our universe, and figuring out how it's all put together is the best challenge there is. I've spent most of my time working on this, and got a PhD along the way.

Geographically, I'm driven by daydreams, and there are beautiful places to go in the world. A few years ago I was living in Colorado, snowboarding and playing in the mountains. But wherever I go, I always miss the warm tropical waves in Maui, so that's where I spend most of my time.

I do like to travel a lot and hang out with friends. My life would be pretty empty without the wonderful people in it.

Update:
Surprisingly (most of all to me) my physics research has gone exceptionally well. I may actually have found a key insight into how our universe works. Since that discovery... I've entered the media spotlight. The new attention has turned my life upside down, but I've been embracing the chaos and enjoying the ride. For the past two months there's been a camera crew following me around while I play with new inventions, talk about science, and jump off of things. Personally, I don't think I have any business being on television, but I guess I didn't argue against this convincingly. My life is very, very strange... but good.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I've never been stuck in a mindless job, or had to worry about money, so I've had time to do and think about lots of things and get good at them. I suppose I'm good at math, but I don't feel like it, since studying new mathematical concepts can be a struggle. I am pretty good at: surfing, snowboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, skateboarding, hang gliding, cooking, eating, listening, reading, writing, dancing, video games, chess, Catan, go, other board games, and just basically thinking about stuff.

I presume "books" refers to novels and not theoretical physics monographs, so... everything by Milan Kundera, Douglas Adams, Christopher Moore, Philip Roth, Umberto Eco, Italo Calvino, Robert Heinlein, Bill Bryson, Philip K. Dick, David Brin, Neal Stephenson, Ursula Le Guin, Neil Gaiman, and Kurt Vonnegut, as well as "Properties of Light," "The Stranger," "Beyond Good and Evil," "The Fountainhead," "1984," "Dune," "Ender's Game," "Tess of the D'Urbervilles," "Weetzie Bat," "The Picture of Dorian Gray," "The World According to Garp," "The Happy Isles of Oceana," "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance," "The Bridge Across Forever," "The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect," "Tao Te Ching," "The Hours," and, yes, I'll admit it, the Harry Potter and His Dark Materials books. These are novels I've loved; but I read a lot, and have left out many.

Movies... Stardust, Into the Wild, Equilibrium, Inception, LoTR, Star Wars, Pulp Fiction, The Princess Bride, Joe Versus the Volcano, The Fifth Element, Raiders of the Lost Ark, WALL-E, The Hours, Limitless, Lawrence of Arabia, Hero, Agora, Lost in Translation, Real Genius, American Beauty, Kill Bill, Alien, Last of the Mohicans, Donnie Darko, Blade Runner, The Incredibles, The Graduate, Life of Brian, Young Frankenstein, Brazil, Pirates of the Caribbean, Barbarella, The Big Lebowski, The Right Stuff, Being There... once again, there are more, but these are representative of what I like.

Music... My musical tastes and abilities could charitably be described as "unsophisticated." I like stuff that sounds good. I did once hear a christian-country-rap song that made me wish I didn't have ears, but can't remember which one it was (some experiences are better forgotten). I tend to enjoy songs with plaintive, misanthropic vocals -- but my taste is eclectic; I like most music. Also, if there's good techno playing anywhere within earshot I will seek it out and dance to it, badly.

As for food... I eat everything. I especially like food that's healthy and spicy, such as most Thai. But I spent most of my college years living on fish burritos, so I am not culinarily aloof. I eat and appreciate everything, especially if it's prepared with care.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
One of my happiest memories was traveling in Baja with not much more than my board, a jug of water, and a towel. But I have now officially failed at being a nomad by buying a house.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Theoretical physics. And, well, life.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Plotting world domination.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When I was thirteen I had an intensely erotic dream about a tree from outer space. (I'm not sure if that's private or just weird.)

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You probably shouldn't. I'd rather avoid talking with most people. However, if we match by over 90%, and if you would chew off your own foot to escape a nine-to-five job, and have a hard time believing how absurdly most people live their lives, then, sure, go ahead. I value intelligence, resilience, humor, and kindness.
