In 2011 I moved to SF via cross country road trip in a beat, but amazingly lovable 97 chevy lumina. It had maroon suede interior and the fold down triple front seat.

I went hiking and camping along the way, showed up for a surprise party in chicago, occupied salt lake for a place to stay and met some awesome people. It's amazing the friends you can make with a bag of left over camping snacks.

I moved here for the city, and started looking for work when I got here. While I searched, I did odd jobs to pay the bills. I tutored kids in Menlo Park, made cold calls for a climate action group, and sold hot dogs around Union Square. Everyone asks the hot dog guy for directions, and I learned the city by assisting helpless tourists find their favorite landmark.

I was originally looking for green engineering work, but decided to broaden my focus after seeing my one thousandth programming job ad. Less than two weeks later, like a true San Francisco transplant, I started working at a start up. It paid well, I learned a lot, and I loved the people. But after working there for most of a year, I decided to start working for myself.
