My Self-Summary
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
- Sitting down. I don't understand people who say "I've been sitting all day, so I'll just stand." God gave you yer bum for a reason, and I'm pretty sure it was either sitting or dancing.
- Making a fool of myself on the dance floor. You know that person who starts dancing before everyone else and does it all night long? That's me. I love music and I can't help myself.
The first things people usually notice about me
Otherwise people probably notice that I'm tall.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: I love to learn new things, so I read mostly nonfiction. Some of the most thought provoking books I've read are the Blank Slate by Steven Pinker, a People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn, Stuffed and Starved by Raj Patel, Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky, and the Economics of Justice by Richard Posner. When I read fiction it's usually something fun by the likes of Douglas Adams or P.G. Wodehouse.
Television: I've been so busy that I haven't had time to watch anything from the current season. In the past How I Met Your Mother, Pushing Daisies, 30 Rock, Scrubs, House, Psych, and Topgear were some of my favorites shows. Similarly, I have a hard time bringing myself to sit down and watch full length films by myself. I'll watch stuff with friends, but I'm not a big movie buff.
Food: I want to try everything at least once. The number of restaurants was overwhelming to me when I first moved here, so I resolved to try a new place every weekend. During the week I typically make my own meals. Every week I get a box of produce from a community supported agriculture (CSA) group, and I love supplementing that with things from the Hillcrest Farmers Market.
The six things I could never do without
The Outdoors - Anything that you can do indoors is more fun outdoors. Anything.
A Camera. Check out my journal page.
Fresh Produce - Canned vegetables are gross. Frozen ones come out funny. Fresh food is the only option.
A Bicycle - I had to drive to work for three weeks after my bike got hit by a car, and it was so boring! Who wants to sit in traffic after work?
This week's copy of the Reader - Their calendar is fantastic. I could find something to do every night of the week.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
You should message me if
Or you want to go out and do things. Or stay in and do things. I'd love to find people to walk, hike, bike, run, or try something new with. We could also go to shows at the Casbah, Dizzys, or your venue of choice. Or we could go out and try the most exotic food we can find at a new restaurant. Carpe diem!
