My self-summary
Interviewer: If [skateboarding]'s not about competition and it's not a sport, what is it about?

Lance Mountain: It's about trying to stay as immature as possible for the rest of your life.

- Bones Brigade, An Autobiography.

I moved to Albuquerque (from a small town in NM) in January 2013 with my constant companion, a heeler/pit bull mix named Penelope, plus 2 cats and 6 red-eared sliders. Small town life was great for a while, but after 5 years, it was suffocating.

I'm a lawyer at a non-profit. I represent poor (oops, I mean low income) people. These days I'm mostly doing unemployment comp cases, which are REALLY fun.

I'm slowly learning to skateboard. I love it -- It's the best thing ever. (For real.)
What I’m doing with my life
walking my dog, working, reading, journaling, skating, trying to meet guys at the dog park.
I’m really good at
memory games, public benefits appeals, parallel parking, getting carried away and overwhelming people with information about stuff I'm into . . . maybe a few other things, too.
The first things people usually notice about me
My dog. My sunburn (as of June 7th).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Not important. Rodney Mullen is my all-time favorite skater, though.
The six things I could never do without
solitude; the company of animals; the peace of mind that comes from paying attention, within and without, all the time; nature; love; . . . and Albuquerque's awesome skateparks!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
whether or not i agree with Barry Manilow's decision to stop hiding his lisp when he sings.
On a typical Friday night I am
This past Friday night my skate buddy and I skated Bum Park (offensive name, but that's what everyone calls it).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I wish I didn't have to deal with the punishment of trying to meet people online. Why can't I just go to the Stardust Ballroom and find the male equivalent of a "nice tomato," like they did in 1955? (Note: If you haven't seen the movie "Marty," you have no idea what I'm talking about - Sorry.)
I’m looking for
  • Straight guys only
  • Ages 40–50
  • Located anywhere
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
you don't hate lawyers.

Note: I don't have a smartphone or internet at home at the moment, so please don't freak out and assume I'm blowing you off if I don't email you back within 10 minutes.
