What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
For the time being I'm enjoying living in DC working as a Democratic online communications consultant. Long term, I'm looking to be happy -- I think that'll include more travel, family, and just general adventure, but I don't know. I'm just figuring it out.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Hard to say, since I'm not other people, but I think the first things are that I'm friendly, cheerful, and blonde. Then later, that I'm smart, loyal, and totally dorky.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I love to read... everything from John Steinbeck (Grapes of Wrath is one of my absolute favorites) to Harlan Coben (and James Patterson, John Grisham, Robert Parker, you get the point...). I love George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire (though I haven't finished all the books yet), Elizabeth Moon's Deed of Paksenarrion, and Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game.

I love all food, but major favorites are Italian, Mexican, and ice cream.

I'm a fan of all "happy" music, though happy is hard to define. Bruce Springsteen is my all-time favorite, and I like all those oldies -- Dylan, Hendrix, Stones, Pink Floyd, Eagles, etc. Other favorites are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jewel, Blink 182, Meat Loaf, Alanis Morissette, etc. But I also like country and whatever they're playing on the hits radio stations.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. The people I love.

2. It's lame, but true: my cell phone.

3. My computer (I'm an online communications consultant, it's a bit of a necessity.)

4. Myself. I would absolutely hate to have amnesia and feel lost from myself.

5. Freedom. Not to go all Bravehearty, and I'm not a commitment-phobe, but freedom is important to me. I like knowing that people have a choice in life, many choices, and it motivates me to work to improve the lives of those who don't have as much as I do to increase their available choices. If that makes any sense at all.

6. The ocean.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What makes the world tick. What makes people tick. What makes us happy and how do we avoid becoming chained to the monotonies?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out with friends (usually Dupont or U St, though sometimes Clarendon will make it into the mix) or home with a glass of wine and Netflix.

You're smart and interested in the world around you. Also, only if you aren't just looking for a girl to hook up with (you'd be wasting your time, and mine, so please don't bother).
