Hey I’m Mike. I'm a big believer in not sweating the small stuff. When life gets tough, I try to look for the positive. I usually think of friends and family before myself; being a good friend, brother, and son are things I pride myself in. I always try to do for those that I care about, and I am willing to go that extra distance.

I just finished up my Bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech, and have started my first "real world" job as an engineer. I now work for the DOD, and while it’s not always the most exciting job, it’s nice to know that my work has an impact.

I guess you could call me a “jack of all trades”, as I have always had a wide range of interests and enjoy taking part in all of them. I enjoy playing sports and being outdoors. Pick up football and basketball games, kickball, tubing and camping are some of my favorites. I'm also always looking for great local locations to do and try new things… I mean it’s great when you discover something new in a place you thought you already knew so well. I also really enjoy cooking (The upside of years of working in a restaurant), and try to find time to do so whenever I can.

I think people notice that I am really easy going and a positive person. I am a big believer that you shouldn't sweat the small things. When life gets tough, I look for the good things that I have going for myself to get me through. I usually think of others before myself and look to make others happy. I am always doing for those that I care about and am willing to go that extra distance.
