My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a bisexual man looking for human companionship, be it girlfriend, boyfriend, platonic friend or simply somebody to pal around with now and then.
I generally prefer the company of women, but I'd like to keep my options open until I meet somebody I want to settle down with for the rest of my life.
I am always looking to expand my circle of friends and get to know more people, and would like to have a few more people to hang out with that aren't married or have kids.
I value creativity, style, intelligence and tend to get along with people who are progressive/liberal types and anyone who can take some good natured ribbing now and again.
I am originally from Norfolk, NE and moved to Lincoln in August of 2000 to attend graduate school at the University of Nebraska, and obtained my MA in Political Science in December of 2002.
I live in an apartment near the State Capitol Building, commute to work via Star Tran and enjoy being able to walk downtown to some of my favorite bars and restaurants.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
4/13/15: I spent the last month organizing a benefit for my brother, which took place at Zipline Brewing Company on 4/11/2015. My brother was the first recipient of a double lung and liver transplant in Colorado on 3/10/15 and Saturday was his 31st birthday. It was a truly successful endeavor. We have raised more money for his post op care than we were hoping to and I even managed to make it onto the local news.

I am a member of the Lincoln Lagers Homebrew club and a contributor to Nebraska Beer Blog. I enjoy being a steward at BJCP affiliated home brewing competition and recently won a medal at the Sower's Cup contest that I helped organize here in Lincoln.
I participate in a Fantasy Football league, but not the usual sort of one. This one is an English Premier League Fantasy League that is affiliated with Jake's Cigar Bar in Lincoln.
I enjoy running, but have refrained from running more than a mile, since I started to experience some joint issues in my left knee. I would like to run a half marathon in the near future, but should probably receive some sort of medical treatment before I attempt to train for one again. I try to stay lean and mean, and have made an effort to eat smaller, healthier meals throughout the day, but I cannot say that I am really a fitness buff
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Useless trivia: I have a collection of trivial pursuit games.
Rocking out and singing along with my favorite songs
Arm wrestling
Explaining craft beer styles to regular beer drinkers and current political events to people who aren't actively engaged in politics.
I'd also like to think that I am a pretty good brewer and a decent vocalists, but that isn't really up for me to decide.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I would generally say that it is either my mustache or that I look eerily similar to Dave Grohl. It kind of depends on my hair style at the time and how much facial hair I currently have on my face. I get asked if I realize how much I look like him alot, but I would actually say my thin physique or my eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I like Philip Dick and Kurt Vonnegut novels, but I haven't read many books lately. I slowly read the Oxford Companion to Beer by Garrett Oliver over the last year, and plan on reading a few more beer related books before I try to pass the BJCP exam.

Music: I have over 2,000 songs in my primary Spotify playlist and listen to a wide variety of music. I find myself becoming a bit more mainstream as I get older, and have gotten back into Dance/Electronic music again. I still enjoy a lot of sad bastard alt-country/folk music and will forever have a soft spot in my heart for classic punk/metal music.

Film: Kubrick, Scorsese, Coen Brothers, Roger Corman, John Waters, old slashed films, cult films, some generally horrendous examples of the cinema. I also watch quite a few foreign movies on Netflix.

TV: I try not to watch much of it, and will be eliminating my cable subscription very soon.

Food: spicy, lots of meat, Thai, Indian, Mexican, BBQ, pizza, pastries, baguettes, pasta, cheese, etc.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My family, especially my brother
2. Music
3. At least one cup of coffee every morning
4. Having a beer with friends
5. Some form of human affection
6. Eating meat
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
1. The health of my terminally ill brother/elderly parents
2. Beer recipes
3. Sex, and wishing I was a little less awkward and more socially active
4. Political issues and social problems
5. Why I am still living in Nebraska and where I would like to travel/relocate if I could afford it.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At home for the most part. I usually have to work on Saturdays and/or have something planned for the weekends and typically use that night to unwind a little bit.

I enjoy going to craft beer tapping parties and First Friday Art Walk when I do get out, and I am always looking to do something new and different.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't own an automobile. I learned to drive at the age of 15 like nearly everyone else, but generally prefer to walk, ride a bike and/or commute via public transport.
