My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am essentially a modern day Trappist Monk. I live a relatively solitary existence and enjoy brewing beer. It is more like my religion than it is my vocation. I am an odd mix of blue collar and academic. The only downside to my lifestyle is a lack of human companionship. I have dated men, and would be open to dating another man again, but I am willing to admit that I am currently seeking someone of the feminine persuasion.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have a full time job and I am able to support myself. It has very little to do with my field of study and isn't something I'd like to being doing by the time 2016 rolls around. For the record, I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Mass Communications from the University of South Dakota and a Master of Arts degree in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations and Comparative Politics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
I am active in the local craft beer scene. I am a member of the Lincoln Lagers Home Brewing club and occasionally contribute to Nebraska Beer Blog. I also enjoy judging beer at home brewing contests and I am currently helping to organize the second edition of the Sower's Cup.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Useless trivia: I have a collection of trivial pursuit games
Predicting the results of major Soccer tournaments
Rocking out and singing along with my favorite songs
Discussing and helping to promote home brewing and craft beer
I'd also like to think that I am a pretty good brewer and a decent vocalists, but that isn't really up for me to decide.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I would generally say that it is either my mustache or that I look eerily similar to Dave Grohl. It kind of depends on my hair style at the time and how much facial hair I currently have on my face. I get asked if I realize how much I look like him alot, but I would actually say my thin physique or my eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I like Philip Dick and Kurt Vonnegut novels, but I haven't read many books lately.
Music: I have over 2,000 songs in my primary Spotify playlist and listen to a wide variety of music. I find myself becoming a bit more mainstream as I get older, and have gotten back into Dance/Electronic music again. I still enjoy a lot of sad bastard alt-country/folk music and will forever have a soft spot in my heart for classic punk/metal music.

Film: Kubrick, Scorsese, Coen Brothers, Roger Corman, John Waters, old slashed films, cult films, some generally horrendous examples of the cinema. I also watch an occasional foreign film on Netflix.

TV: I don't have cable, and it is rarely on.

Food: spicy, lots of meat, Thai, Indian, Mexican, BBQ, pizza, pastries, baguettes, pasta, cheese, etc.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My family, especially my brother
2. Music
3. At least one cup of coffee every morning
4. Having a beer with friends
5. being productive/feeling like I accomplished at least one thing each day
6. Eating meat
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
1. The health of my terminally ill brother/elderly parents
2. Wishing I had the resources to open my own craft beer bar
3. Whatever seems to be pissing off mass amounts of people at any given moment
5. Why I am still living in Nebraska and where I would like to travel/relocate if I could afford it.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
More apt to be a Jake's Cigar bar than anywhere else, although I tend to stay home when I have to work the next day.
I generally prefer to go out and do something fun or different on Saturday night, but make an effort to go see a movie, attend a concert or a beer tapping whenever I can.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't own an automobile. I learned to drive at the age of 15 like nearly everyone else, but generally prefer to walk, ride a bike and/or commute via public transport.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you live in Lincoln or are planning to relocate here, are between the ages of 18-45, are not opposed to men that grow facial hair throughout the year, would like to learn more about craft beer or how to brew beer at home, simply want to ask me a question, are looking to a companion to an event that I may find to be rather intriguing.
