My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Finally in Prague! Just got here the first week of August. I'm new here and looking for cool people to hang out with.
After a break from travel, I'm finally ready for my next adventure: European Edition! My more recent adventures include a working holiday in New Zealand after finishing a working holiday in Australia.... after teaching English in Japan. I've been a little all over the place the last few years...

Travel has pretty much been my focus the last few years. It's been a really great time traveling on my own. I think everyone should try it at some point. However, there have been more moments lately when I've thought it would be nice to have someone with me to experience things. So, ideally, it would be nice if I found a partner at some point for some future adventures.

In case that isn't enough about me, I'll insert a poem my friend wrote about me.
"Gays do men,
Dogs do tricks,
Sarah talks of politics.
Of religion she will poffer,
All opinions she can offer,
If a room is kinda cold
and conversation lacking,
Just add in Sarah and,
You'll see, boredom gets sent packing.
Bit of Sparkle, bit of glee,
Bits of everything, seems to me.
She's the light
to light the night
And make a world seem good.
I wonder if she'll stay here long?
I really hope she would."
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Seeing as much as I can.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Singing, talking to strangers, finding humor in random things.
I seriously love to laugh. It's my favorite.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not so sure... I've been told that if I don't make a conscious point to smile, I look grouchy. I really hope that's not it...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Some favourite books: I Know This Much Is True, Like Water for Chocolate, White Oleander, The Poisonwood Bible, The Stranger, Life of Pi.
Favourite authors recently: I've liked everything I've read by Palahniuk, David Sedaris, Augusten Burroughs, and Jeffrey Eugenides.

Podcasts: I try to keep up with Savage Love, Bill Maher, and some NPR podcasts (particularly This American Life).

Movies: I like anything that touches my mind, my heart, and/or appeals to my sense of humor... I'm also a sucker for Indie stuff...
Some examples of favorites (I'm really bad at narrowing these down): Amelie, Away We Go, Casablanca, Closer, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Forrest Gump, Frida, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Juno, Labyrinth, L'Auberge Espagnole, Liberty Heights, Lost in Translation, Pulp Fiction, Little Miss Sunshine, Saved, The Secret of Roan Inish, Shopgirl, Singles, Sound of Music, Stranger Than Fiction, To Wong Foo, 200 Cigarrettes, Waiting, When Harry Met Sally... Also, Anything Wes Anderson or Coen Brothers.

TV: Game of Thrones, American Horror Story, How I Met Your Mother, 30 rock, Flight of the Conchords, Entourage, Dexter, Californication, South Park, The Big Bang Theory, Family Guy, American Dad, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Community, Modern Family... I really like comedies, but often find mindless crime shows enjoyable at the end of a long day, though I'm a tad too embarrassed to list them...
EDIT: I'ma little sad to see how many of these shows are done...

Music: Too much to list, but I'll put down a few.
Heartless Bastards, An Horse, The Black Keys, The Flaming Lips, Tenacious D, Carole King, Coldplay, Billie Holiday, Bob Dylan, Smashing Pumpkins, Death Cab for Cutie, Dar Williams, Fiona Apple, Guster, Janis Ian, Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake, Rilo Kiley, Rufus Wainwright, Sarah Brightman, Sarah Harmer, Cake, John Mayer, Zero 7, Kings Of Leon, Sia, Sondre Lerche, The Vines, Tina Dico, Tracy Bonham, Travis, Ben Folds, The White Stripes, Cat Power, Regina Spektor, I also enjoy folk music, jazz, and some musicals... just some examples.

Food: I love trying new food, especially from different cultures. I love most Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Thai, Indian, Italian, Cuban, and Mexican food I've tried, just to name some broad types I can think of. I didn't realize how much I like spicy food until I moved to Japan and found I missed it. It wasn't so popular there... So I especially appreciate spicy food. :)

Drinks: I love a dry red wine, a dirty martini, or a dark beer (like Newcastle). These weren't as common in Japan, so I've adjusted to Japanese beer and chu-hi in the past, which were both much cheaper for when I was out with friends in Japan. In Australia I adjusted to "goon." In New Zealand, I drank whatever was on special. I guess I'm saying I'm adaptable. I also enjoy tasty microbrews. Hoping to discover some new good beers while I'm here.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I've had to do without almost all these things before, but in the interest of telling more about myself I'll say...
1) People (friends, family, etc.)
2) Phone to talk to people
3) Camera
4) Travel
5) Movies
6) Food?
(Really #1 and #6 are the only necessities, I suppose)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Where to go next...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Spending time with friends. Just about anything is fun with the right company.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a little creeped out by sloths. There, I said it. I do not find them the least bit cute or funny. Internet memes be damned.
