My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I hew towards optimism but have learned to be realistic and measured in my approach towards life and people.

Here are a few other tidbits:

1. I grew up in Florida and through school/work have made my way up the Eastern seaboard. I'm now a New Yorker but hold fiercely onto my small town roots.

2. I put a lot of stock in my personal relationships (family, friends, romantic interests), for good and bad.

3. My best friend is my dog, Felix. the worst part of traveling is leaving him behind. (Update: I now have a second dog - Athena - it has been a lot of work but I'm loving it. She's a great addition to my little household and the rug rats keep me on my toes).

4. I am competitive and can be highly intense. That being said, I love to joke around, have a good time, and do not take myself too seriously.

5. I'm a big believer in personal accountability and treating people with kindness, respect, and authenticity.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Career-wise, I'm a corporate/intellectual property lawyer. it takes up a lot of my time but I love it.

In my free time, I plan trips (love to travel), put together lego sets, and am otherwise pretty open minded to trying out new experiences. Have recently gotten into hiking and would love to do this with others on a regular basis.

In addition, I also work on keeping myself mentally, physically, and emotionally healthy. I work out regularly, take time for myself every day, and consciously avoid unnecessary drama/toxic situations.

I also volunteer with various causes, legal and non-legal. It helps keep me centered.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
1. Staying cool under pressure and coming up with creative solutions to complex problems.

2. Cooking and entertaining.

3. Fantasy football & quiz games/jeopardy.

4. Being loyal and dependable. I'vebeen told I'm a natural at taking care of loved ones/friends.

5. Always giving life my best shot. Not getting discouraged.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a goofball grin and will most likely be distracted by passing dogs.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I love both "respectable literature" (e.g., on the Booker Prize short list) and trashy summer mindless reading (e.g., Anne Rice novels, Sookie Stackhouse series). I generally alternate from fiction and nonfiction in my queue.

Movies: summer blockbuster/action and comedies. I like indies also, but not the over-the-top contrived ones.

Shows: I recently discovered Hulu & Apple TV and am now catching up on shows I've neglected for seemingly ages. Recent fan of The Mindy Project and Walking Dead.

Music: Musician at heart and appreciate lots of genres. Currently a big fan of Fun. (who isn't) and listening to a lot of rock. Love 80s music and 90s/early 2000s R&B/Hip Hop. I've gone to a lot of concerts this year and I love it - nothing beats live music!

Food: I typically stick to Asian and Latin but open to all kinda of food. Not a big fan of organ meats, however.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I'm pretty self sufficient and don't need much to get by, but here's a few in no particular order:

Dark Chocolate, FSU football and sports in general, NYC in the fall, National Geographic magazine, Legos, and my dogs Felix & Athena.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
If I am making good decisions and where life will take me in the next few years. What kind of qualities I truly value in a man and what I need to bring to the table to make something wonderful happen. on a more flippant/obviously ridiculous note, whether I would survive in a zombie apocalypse and will the Buffalo Bills ever make the playoffs again.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Taking it easy or hanging out with friends. Chillin with the dogs watching movies.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I love watching Monster Truck competitions and had a "Bigfoot" t shirt as a kid. (Update: I can be a nervous flyer sometimes, which is a buzzkill considering how much I love to travel).

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're fun, confident, interesting, and honest. You're mature and have a sense of where you are going with life and are open to getting to know someone on a less than superficial level. If any of the above appeals to you and you'd like to get to know more of the details, hit me up. Thanks guys!

Disclaimer: you must be ok with dogs. My two dogs are big parts of my life and I wouldn't trade them for the world.
