My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
About me:
- Born and raised in Boston but have lived in Virginia (college), DC, NYC (grad school), and Chicago before moving back
- Spent my 31st birthday in Denali national park and it was one of the best birthdays yet
- Love the outdoors: biking, hiking, running, kayaking...
- Traveled to 5/7 continents; headed to Africa in Feb 2014 to make it 6. Antarctica is going to be challenging....
- Love competitions of any kind: running races, playing in my coed soccer games, trivia nights, board games. If there is the possibility of winning, I like it.
- There are very few things in life that scare me enough that I'll never do them again; bungy jumping was one of them.
- Always down to check out live music, even if it's a band I've never heard of
- I am equally as comfortable roughing it in the outdoors as I am in a cocktail dress and heels
- I ski, but if you snowboard we can probably make it work
- I'll try anything once

Who I'm looking for:
Someone to plan a long hiking trip with; someone to cook for/with; someone to drag to November Project or Flywheel with me (unlimited membership and I'm obsessed); someone who is interested in what I do for a living and not intimidated by it; someone who surprises me with his thoughtfulness; someone to read next to in bed; someone to kayak with; someone who teaches me new things; someone who motivates, inspires, and supports me; most importantly, someone who makes me laugh--the more silly, goofy, and absurd, the better!
**I realize there were alot of dangling prepositions in that paragraph, and yes, it bothers me a bit.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Enjoying it. My life is pretty well rounded; I'm lucky to be at a job where I love going to work everyday, where I constantly feel challenged and fulfilled. Outside of work, every chance I get I'm looking to travel somewhere new.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making any situation fun, keeping up with the boys in athletic pursuits, procrastinating, soccer, gin rummy (the card game), flywheel, cutting out skin cancers
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I was once described by a friend as "spunky." I'd like to think that was a compliment
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Bill Bryson, John Irving and David Sedaris are favorites. Lately it's been medical journals and texts.
TV: don't watch a ton, but have been known to get sucked into a good series, including Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Arrested Development; not much of a movie-goer/watcher (I have a difficult time sitting still for longer than an hour) but just saw some good films out at Sundance
Music: The Talking Heads, LCD Soundsystem, Grizzly Bear, the National, Hot Chip, Ratatat, the XX, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Frightened Rabbit, Bright Eyes
Favorite travel spots: New Zealand, Sydney, Patagonia, Alaska
Favorite Local spots: Deluxe, Parish Cafe, Carrie Nation
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
--physical activity
--my passport
--my bike
--caffeine
--salt
--the snooze button (because I'm sleep deprived from trying to do too much, not lazy!)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Where I'd like to travel to next
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out with friends, exploring new restaurants in my neighborhood (South End), heading to the Whites to hike or VT to ski, hopping on a plane or train for a weekend adventure
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
