My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Bookworm, eater, cook, haunter of Greenmarkets, frequenter of Murray's, cocktail maker and drinker. Lover of culture, both high and pop.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Consuming as much culture as I can, cooking up a storm, reading voraciously, spending lots of time in Central Park (alternately running and lounging), wandering the city, and traveling whenever the opportunity arises.

I work in technology (user research, strategy, and product management). Basically, I ask questions, tell stories, and solve problems. I really like it.

Currently reading: Just finished David Mitchell's The Bone Clocks (fantastic) and Emily St. John Mandel's Station Eleven (also fantastic), and am starting The Hundred Year House.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I make a nearly perfect gougère (there's always room for improvement), a killer bucatini all'amatriciana, and my chocolate cake is legendary in certain circles. My sticky toffee pudding is legendary in all circles. I cook up a lobster boil every summer, so if you're looking for a woman who can select, kill, and steam a dozen lobsters to perfection, I'm your gal.

Last summer, I mastered the art of cold brewed iced coffee. This summer, I'm tackling ice cream.

I'm a superlative traveler - I'll go anywhere, anytime, and I fall asleep immediately upon boarding the plane.

I believe strongly in the value of interborough travel. Have MetroCard, will subway.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
People tend to mention my laugh (it's loud) or my hair (it's...dark?).

For brevity's sake, I'm choosing a few per category. There's lots more where these came from. Just ask.

Authors: Margaret Atwood, Tobias Wolff, Hilary Mantel, Jane Austen, Nora Ephron, Jeffrey Eugenides, Kate Atkinson. Recent faves include Maggie Shipstead's Astonish Me, Sarah Vowell's Unfamiliar Fishes, and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Americanah.

Movies: The Philadelphia Story, Amelie, E.T., Roman Holiday, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Ratatouille, The Eternal Sunshing of the Spotless Mind, Gosford Park, The Lives of Others.

TV Shows: Justified, Mad Men, Gilmore Girls, Breaking Bad, Veep. About to dive in to True Detective.

All-time music: Stephen Sondheim, The Decembrists, Rufus Wainwright.

Current music obsessions: Florence + The Machine, Golden Suits, the Inside Llewyn Davis soundtrack, and a revisit of the things I loved in the '90s (The Cranberries, Belly, R.E.M....)

Food & Drink: Champagne, bourbon, eggs, Vietnamese food, Sriracha, coffee, pickles, cucumbers, charcuterie, Red Boat fish sauce, anything cooked by Thomas Keller or Yotam Ottolenghi, whipped cream, cheese. I just got the Franny's cookbook and am a bit obsessed with every single thing in it.

(I couldn't limit myself on food. Sorry/not sorry.)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Coffee, and plenty of it.
New York's theater scene.
Cheese.
Something good to read.
Bourbon.
Sunglasses.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The trip I'm planning to Austria over New Year's. Any recommendations?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Deciding which cocktail to order/make. Spoiler alert: it's usually a Manhattan, but I've gotten a taste for the Boulevardier of late.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I had a childhood crush on Matt Lauer.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're curious about the world. You like to read books or see movies or pieces of theater and then talk about them. You're amazing, think I might be, or some combination of the two.

You're funny as hell and know how to go in for the kiss.
