I am going to lead with this: if you aren't looking for a serious relationship, THEN DON'T message me. That's not to say We need to jump head first, but you have to be opened to the idea of it going somewhere. I don't need anyone wasting my time, and I don't want to waste yours. Time is our most precious commodity, and it's something we can never get back. Now that that is out of the way, I am an out-going and caring person. I am looking for that other person to compliment me. I am an old soul born into the wrong generation. My spirit animal is Joan Holloway. I love playing tennis
, going to the movies
, dining out
, good conversation
, a good cup of coffee, anything rockabilly, and people with a sense of humor
. If you know how to swing dance, you get bonus points. I am always looking for new dance partners.
I am a teacher. I love my job. I am looking for someone who is passionate about what they do, and is driven by his goals and hopes. I believe that honesty is the key to any good relationship. I am tired of all the day to day bullshit. I just want a nice, funny, smart (and seemingly nerdy-chic) guy to share my time with...
I have discovered that people who are set in their ways in their musical choices, and not opened to trying new things in the world of music, don't suit me at all. Actually, it is a huge turnoff because music is such a big part of my life.
I am out-going, witty, sassy, and ultimately looking for the Ben Wyatt to my Leslie Knope.
What I’m doing with my life
I took up swing dancing last year. I like going different places to apply what I have learned. If you want to help me fill up my dance card, let me know! Besides that, teaching amazing young adults how to make music at a College Prep school here in Chicago and finding my way around this city. I sing a lot. Maybe if you are lucky, you will be around to hear it one day. I really want to get into making music again that doesn't involve the teenagers I teach. I miss playing with grown up musicians. Currently, I'm playing in a community orchestra to get my fix, writing music with my best friend, and recently joined the improv comedy scene.
I’m really good at
having red hair? I am really good at teaching. I pride myself in
being the "cool" teacher at school. It's a pretty awesome title to
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair, I suppose, if we are talking about looks. My impressive collection of glasses? My vintage fashion, perhaps (I usually am dressed like I walked straight off the page of a 50's ad)? I'm also pretty tall and no stick. Outside of that my sense of humor. I also easily fit into new social situations. I can have a conversation with just about anyone.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Series of Unfortunate Events, Good in Bed, Goodnight No one, Little Earthquakes, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Modern Romance, Yes, please!, Bossy Pants... I have really gotten into listening to audio books on my drives to work.
Movies: Too many to name
Television: Parks and Rec, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, New Girl, Mad Men, The Office, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Nurse Jackie, Shameless, The League, Grey's, Episodes, Six Feet Under (my all time favorite), Arrested Development.
Music: Rilo Kiley, Ingrid Michaelson, Psapp, Tilly and the Wall, The Beatles, Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service, Iron and Wine, Anya Marina, THe Ditty Bops, Muse, Peter Frampton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Matt Nathanson, The sountrack to Juno, Van Halen, Jamie Cullum, Harry Connick Jr, Classic Rock, John Mayer, Swing, ,Big band, Jazz.....very eclectic in this area.
Foods: I am really looking to try places in the city. I am pretty adventurous and will usually try something at least once. I don't usually fancy Thai food, but I'll try it every now and then. My go to would be Mexican or a really great burger joint.
The six things I could never do without
In random order:
2. My great grandfather's violin
3. My career
4. The Internet
5.My sense of hearing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The world, and how I fit into it. That and how will I spend my
weekends without being surrounded by teenagers? It sounds strange,
but I very much value my "grown-up time". Also, what I want out of
life. When I know what I want, I go for it. I don't have time to
dance around. I am really tired of wearing the pants..... I am an
assertive woman but I want to find an equally assertive man.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out playing softball, dining, concerts, movies, staying in and
hanging with my puppies, watching the shows I missed during the
week, hanging out with friends, or cuddling up with a good book.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
-That having kids in the future (distant) is extremely important to me, and if it isn't to you, there is really no point in messaging me, because that issue will never change for me.
-I don't date around. If I've been on 4+ dates with you, I have decided you are worth getting to know and that's where I choose to invest my time. I can't handle the multiple scenario.... It's too messy. I wish to be back in a dating era where things were much simpler and transparent.
-I'm a sensitive and caring soul. I care a lot about people. I hope you can handle that....
-OH, and that I have four (have 8 in total) really nerdy tattoos...but you have to ask for details.

* You want to go swing dancing with me.

* You enjoy sarcasm
*You are looking to meet someone with the potential of it turning into a relationship (I know...it's a lot to ask)
* You know what you want, and you know how to get it.
* You enjoy discovering new music/bands, and want a partner in crime, both in and out of the concert scene.
* You want to help me fulfill my need to make music with other grown-ups.
*You're a grown up
* You have a job and are independent (don't live with your parents is the preference, but there are some circumstances where that is ok)
*You don't keep the company of bad people
*You know how to follow through on things.
*you aren't selfish
