I would say I'm like a complex varietal, except that wine gets subtle with age, and although I have mellowed, I'm not sure I've reached the point of subtlety.

I enjoy many things:
- sports (49ers, Stanford American football), "soccer" (England!)
- live theatre (theater)
- cooking
- exercise (esp. bicycling)
- nature
- the outdoors! (I get excited looking at the hills, and go crazy over rainbows!)
- kids!

I keep up with current events and speak four languages. I have a passion for technology and am often the person my friends and co-workers approach when they have problems with computers or phones.

I'm well-educated and can interact with different cultures and socioeconomic groups.

I have a great sense of humor and have been known to laugh so hard that I start to tear up. This in turn causes other people to laugh! I like irony and absurdity. (Some favorites: Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Little Britain, Monty Python, the Onion, Leslie Nielsen). Sometimes, I deadpan my humor, keeping a straight face, but I think the things I'm saying are so outrageous that only the truly gullible would believe me! (Still, some people take me verbatim!)

Books - The most recent title is "Do What You Are." I read mostly non-fiction: history, biography, philosophy.
Movies - I like almost anything except horror films. I'm not too crazy about movies that are heavy on violence, though.
Music - jazz, classical, and reggae are my favorites. I also like classic rock. I pretty much like everything except hip hop and rap.
Food - French, Italian, Ethiopian, Middle Eastern. I've been cooking a lot of Moroccan lately.
