I'm honest, laid-back, a little bit of a hippy, a little bit
Sometimes I can come off a little shy at first, but once I know you
well enough, few topics are off limits.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a private chef and I specialize in gluten-free (and other food
sensitivities), seasonal, and health-supportive.
I’m really good at
Making eye contact with people I want to connect with, bringing
Jewish chicken soup to sick friends, ordering single-malt scotch,
giving and receiving hugs, remembering my dreams, drinking too much
juice, talking sense into myself.
The first things people usually notice about me
My hot-nerd glasses and my smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books/authors: Douglas Adams, The Dresden Files, Sarah Waters, The
Hunger Games Trilogy
Music: The Beatles, ABBA, Journey, Lady Gaga, Led Zeppelin. I'm not
the kind of person who has their finger on the pulse of the music
scene, but I love when friends introduce me to new bands.
Television/Film: Doctor Who, Torchwood, Psych, How I Met Your
Mother, Northern Exposure, Glee, The Fifth Element, Stardust, Buffy
The Vampire Slayer, True Blood, Cheers, The L Word, Midnight in
Paris, The Other Guys, Black Swan, Futurama
The six things I could never do without
My prescription sunglasses, chef knife, my iPhone, a water filter,
and a good pillow. Umm...mermaids?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Topics covered by NPR's RadioLab (time, sleep, space, love),
gender, sexuality, death, past-lives, extraterrestrial
intelligence, fat, salt, sugar, chocolate, class, the jazz age. The
collective unconscious, doggie dreams, summer camp, musical
theater, technology, travel.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out enjoying some of my favorite local cabaret/burlesque
performers, chilling on the couch with some comfort food and a
stack of movies/full DVR, happy hour with co-workers, hitting up
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a sci-fi/fantasy geek and carry a Star Trek key chain. I take
my vitamins regularly. I like Disney World, but not roller
coasters. When I was a teenager I used to sneak down to the living
room late at night to watch Gia on HBO. Even though I love
practicing yoga regularly, there are some weeks that I just don't
You should message me if
...you like good food, Jameson on the rocks, yoga, and dog people.
(And by dog people, I mean people that like dogs, not dog-human
...you know the difference between your and you're.
...you ask me about something I wrote in my profile and then tell
me something awesome about yourself.
...you're not offended by "that's what she said" jokes.
