My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
They say I'm a bit of a weirdo... I say I'm an original. For example if I'm wearing sneakers it is always two different color Chuck Taylors (Punky Brewster had style). I also own "dress boots & spurs" for special occasions.

I'm well educated. In college I studied Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, & Performing Arts. Much like my personality, my education was kind of all over the place. One semester I took a creative writing course, a history course, an astronomy course, a philosophy course, & a welding course.

The Who album "Tommy" plays on repeat in my head.

I'm real big on history, especially my family history. My feeling is how can you know where you're going if you don't know where you've been.

Here's another random one... My pet peeves include people that don't know the difference between "there" "their" & "they're".

I'm a very kind, patient, & caring person. I'm very mellow, & laid back (I can count on 1 hand the number of times I've yelled in the past 15 years).

I still have faith in the basic good nature of humanity in spite of all the evidence against it.

It's kind of funny, I fancy myself a writer & wordsmith, but as i sit here I find it hard to come up with anything brilliant & consequential to say for my "self summary".
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Well I used to know what I was doing with my life but these days... who knows.
Basically, just trying to navigate this mortal coil.

Mostly I just work. I've got a very good (and very dangerous) blue collar union job. I do enjoy what I do because i feel like it actually makes a difference in the world.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm exceptional at relating random quotes of Arrested Development & The Simpsons to everyday life.
"Oh my god it's the cops, and a hot construction worker!"
"Well we didn't win, here's your pizza... But Mr. Hutz, we did win... That's ok, the box is empty!"
Pinball & arcade claw machines
Writing, mostly poetry, but the occasional song as well.
I'm also quite good at singing although i haven't had a band since college but I am trying to correct that. Meanwhile I hit karaoke night every chance I get.

Oh yeah, and trivia... I know sooo many useless facts. I'm an information sponge.

I'm also real good at finding my way. I don't know if it's the boy scout in me but once I've been someplace I can usually find my way back. I've got a TomTom GPS that I hardly ever use... except when I want Beavis & Butthead to tell me where to go (that's right I downloaded them to be the voice & it's awesome).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My voice... I have a very deep voice. I can sing Johnny Cash & Barry White spot on.

Or my eyes. All the men in my family have blue eyes.

Or my facial hair... I almost always have some sort of facial hair.

Honestly I don't really read much anymore (other than the newspaper), but when i was younger I pretty much read anything I could get my hands on (in 7th grade I worried a teacher for reading Helter Skelter & Alive). I always liked reading poetry, particularly Blake & all the beat poets. I love everything by Hunter S. Thompson. My favorite book however has got to be Little Max the cement mixer which I used to read almost every night with my father when I was around 5 years old.

In terms of music I love classic rock but also been getting into bluegrass pretty heavy recently. I've been enjoying the new country station we now have in New York too. I also like swing/big band, classic country, old school blues, folk, even some rap... basically if its good quality music I can get into it.
Some favorites are: The Doors, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Charlie Daniels, Johnny Cash, The Steeldrivers, U2, Pink Floyd, Simon & Garfunkel, Ani DiFranco, Liz Phair, Cab Calloway, Nina Simone, G Love & Special Sauce, Alison Krause, Blind Faith, Aretha Franklin, Eminem, Shakira (not entirely sure why), Jethro Tull, Joni Mitchell, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Indigo Girls, The Soggy Bottom Boys, The Temptations, Earl Scruggs, and many others I cant seem to think of right now. As you can see I'm kind of all over the place.

As far as TV shows go I am one of the biggest Simpson's fans ever. I also really love Arrested Development, & lately I have gotten into The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, & Raising Hope. I'm a huge fan of The History Channel. Law & Order in all its incarnations is always good (and always on). My Name Is Earl is always funny, and always has great music in it (and on right now). Other favorites include It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Dead Like Me, Family Guy, Twin Peaks, Ab Fab, etc.
So I've got to add this now... fast forward a few months... I now LOVE Raising Hope! Hilarious!

As for movies, waaay too many to list. I used to want to go to film school & even though I didn't, I still consider myself a student of film. When it comes to movies I'm still all over the place. My absolute favorite movies are The Blues Brothers & Natural Born Killers. I'm a fan of just about every genre however my favorites are comedies, mockumentaries, and anything real cerebral in nature. Oh and I'm a huge fan of Roberto Begnini. I've always thought that Johnny Stecchino is hilarious, Life is Beautiful is, well beautiful, and I just saw The Tiger and The Snow which just like Life Is Beautiful is just amazingly beautiful. It's truly amazing the way he can make a movie that makes you feel the full range of emotions. His movies are happy & sad, funny & serious, just sublime in their beauty. It's so clear that he found his muse in Niccoletta Braschi & their love for each other is so obvious on the screen.

I'm the child of Italian immigrants so food is definitely a big thing. My favorite food is without question gnocchi (bonus points if you can pronounce it correctly), with pizza rustica (it's basically Italian ham & cheese pie) a close second. I love expanding my tastes so I'm really willing to try just about anything. I'm partial to meat & anything spicy (the hotter the better).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1-a book to write in & a pen
2-music
3-good food
4-good company
5-knowledge/experience
6-hope
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to take over the world.
Nostalgia.
My ancestral home. It's a tiny little town in the mountains of Italy that my family has lived in for hundreds of years. I've been there many times & it is without question the most beautiful place in the world.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Looking for something fun & exciting to do; the next new adventure... When I don't succeed at that then it's karaoke or netflix
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have no idea what I'm doing. I just make it up as I go...

Also, I really like women that make the first move & pick me up...

The most embarrassing/shameful thing... I know that they're all terrible but almost everytime I come across a Pauly Shore movie (always on CMT for some reason) or "Black Knight" (Martin Lawrence) on TV, I'm compelled to watch.
