insightful, witty, and passionate
My self-summary Propose an edit
I'm a conservation biologist by day, and a swing dance instructor and DJ by
night. I'm also an aspiring writer and an off-and-on-again stand-up
comedian, but I'm usually too busy dancing to get lots of
gigs.
People often characterize me as passionate, intellectual,
insightful, and sarcastic (maybe other things too). I like hanging
out with friends, making people laugh, and having great personal or
philosophical conversations. But I also love to stay in, cook
myself a nice dinner, and kick back in front of the TV.
In addition to dance (primarily West Coast Swing), I like seeing
movies(sans
horror), watching television, theatre (dramas),
reading, cooking, traveling, and music (most everything
but particularly jazz, soul and R&B). I'm a dreamer and an
optimist and I strive to make the world a better place, but I'm no
tree-hugging radical hippie. And I'm a slave to my computer, my
DVR, and pretty much any baked good - especially Vienna Fingers
(hint hint).
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
Teaching swing dance lessons, competing at national swing dance
events, and generally dancing all over the country. After finishing
my master's in conservation biology at Columbia, I'm working as a
Project Coordinator at Wildlife Conservation Society, doing my best
to keep whales, manatees, turtles and dolphins in Africa. (Man
can't live on dancing alone... or saving the world, for that
matter.) Plus, I've always got my hands in a few other projects
too...
