My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Okay, honestly, I don't know what to write here. I've tried writing different things here, and I always end up wanting to revise it because none of them really reflect who I am. People often characterize me as passionate, intellectual, funny, and sarcastic (probably other things too - I don't really ask). I like hanging out with friends, laughing with (and yes, sometimes at) others, and having great personal or philosophical conversations about life and careers and the finer subtleties of Mad Men. But I also love to stay in, cook myself a nice dinner, and kick back in front of the TV. Plus, I've always got my hands in a few other projects too...

I enjoy watching television and movies (sans horror), cooking, hiking, playing tennis, theatre (dramas), reading, traveling, and music (most everything but particularly pop, jazz, soul and R&B). I'm ridiculous and simultaneously serious, creative and scientific, a biology geek and a superhero fan. I'm a dreamer and an optimist and I strive to make the world a better place, but I'm no tree-hugging radical hippie. And I'm a slave to my computer, my DVR, and pretty much any baked good (can't end my day without something sweet).

I grew up around NYC and it's still the City to me, but I love the Bay Area. I also dream of living in Hawai'i, and vacationing for long periods of time in Europe, preferably Italy, maybe Spain. A good travel buddy is always appreciated. Inquire inside.

I'm looking for a partner, in the truest sense of the word: someone to share life with, to have adventures with, to support and be supported. Does that sound so bad?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm finally getting around to pursuing the life I want.

My time is spent working on one of four things:
Writing. I'm currently working on developing two screenplays, two plays, and a novel.
Dancing. I'm also a part-time West Coast Swing instructor, teaching group classes and private lessons here in the Bay Area and around the country. (No, I don't throw people around or dress like I live in the 1930s.)
Consulting. I enjoy helping nonprofit organizations become more effective with the limited resources they have.
Enjoying life. These days I'm hiking, playing tennis, watching good movies, hanging out with friends, and learning to play the ukulele. If you're interested in any of the above, drop me a line.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Sarcasm, random word association, strategic thinking, dreaming, dancing, and cooking.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Apparently that I'm more fun and funnier than I come across online.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
humor, sarcasm, intellectual stimulation, music, good friends, and sleep
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What I'd like to accomplish in life and how I'll get it all done
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out with friends, drinks and/or dinner, or kicking back at home with a good meal, a glass of wine, and the hours of televisions I've yet to watch on my DVR.

you want to. Go ahead. I dare ya.

Of course, someone once told me that I didn't know what I want, so I thought about it, and came up with this response instead:
an intelligent, sophisticated woman, appreciates culture of all kinds (high and pop), laid back but knows how to dress up, organized but not OCD, fit but not ripped, someone with ambition but not obsessed with work and money, someone who enjoys hanging out in front of the TV as much as going out, someone who is confident but not egotistical, someone humble but not highly insecure, someone who is quick with a joke but can laugh at herself too, someone who has an opinion but doesn't shove it in your face, someone who stands up for herself but isn't aggressive, someone who's liberal and socially and environmentally conscious but not a tree-hugging radical, someone who is smart about money but not cheap, and someone who's a romantic but understands that no one is really perfect.

Or, you know, maybe something else. Let's find out.

And if you like skydiving, that's fine, but don't expect me to go with you. I have no need to challenge death. (Seriously, there are a lot of women on here with pics of themselves skydiving...)
