My self-summary
I am actually an adult male human, despite looking like an anti-semitic political cartoon from the 1930s.

According to OKC test results, I am prone to haughty intellectualism and slightly sluttier than average. This is distressingly accurate.
What I’m doing with my life
I used to be a dissatisfied doctor. This past year, I transitioned to a non-clinical career with a mysterious, private-sector biotech firm. We are definitely NOT building something sinister.

Long-term, I'd also like to pursue medical/science illustration. I've lost most of the skill-set I initially developed as a studio arts major, so I'm trying to get back in the game. Let me know if you have any good digital illustration resources.

I've also recently adopted a kitty. We take turns overwhelming each other with affection, interspersed with periods of intense interpersonal conflict. Companion animal adoption is one (and possibly the only) social cause I am FULLY behind.
I’m really good at
Repaying student loans.
The first things people usually notice about me
I just spilled whatever I was carrying.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm really interested in the mechanics of humor, so I generally prefer stand-up, sketch, scripted and improvisational comedy to other forms of entertainment.

I had to donate almost all of my books to the library last year (it's a long, sad story). The books I kept are Bradford Angier's "How to Stay Alive in the Woods", Lewis Thomas' "Lives of a Cell" and Norton Juster's "The Phantom Toolbooth".

I love epic, deliberately-paced movies like 2001: A Space Odyssey and There Will Be Blood. I'm trying to work my way through the Criterion Collection, chronologically.

In my early twenties, I was a recording engineer AND a snobby, High Fidelity-style record store clerk. I now no longer think musical taste is a reliable barometer for personal greatness. Lately, I find that I'm listening to mostly optimistic rocksteady, dub and other Jamaican music from the 1960s. I will also karaoke anytime, anywhere. My go-tos are "Kiss" by Prince, "My Cherie Amour" by Stevie Wonder, and (if I can convince someone to do a duet) "A Whole New World" from the Aladdin soundtrack.

Savory over sweet, always.
The six things I could never do without
Egg salad, air conditioning, mostly-empty subway cars, wool, Karl Pilkington and corrective lenses.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to be more efficient, so that I can be more lazy.
On a typical Friday night I am
Avoiding Manhattan like the plague, and trying to convince a cat to stop fucking moving and pose for this goddamn fashion shoot!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
While in medical school, I accidentally swallowed a small piece of my anatomy class cadaver.

You are Carrie Brownstein-esque, or you have either:
- A crooked, bumpy, prominent or otherwise interesting nose, or
- Recommendations for live comedy in NYC, or
