My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
"In this world,[...] you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant. Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me." -- Elwood P. Dowd

I'm outgoing, laugh a lot, and want to get the most of what this human experience has to offer. I've moved across the world 3 times; Across this country once. In between all of that I've done Web, been in a punk rock band, done microfinance in the rural Philippines, and got an MBA. My musician friends will tell you I'm responsible and level-headed, while my business school friends will tell you I'm quirky and have a penchant for creating and telling ridiculous stories.

As far as personalities go, I'm towards the independent and adventurous end of the spectrum. I enjoy doing much more than watching other people do, and love to learn new things, like the fact that if you put heavy cream into a jar and shake it for long enough, you totally get homemade butter.

When I do succumb to the couch potato calling, it's usually to the tune of awful horror movies, british comedies, or supernatural/sci-fi themed series. And of course, the Daily Show.

About My Match: I'm looking for someone who is happy with where they are in life, but still seeks to improve themselves. Passion and ambition are important, as I feel like a good chunk of what makes a person happy relates to the feeling that what they do matters. I can admittedly be a bit of an odd duck, so an open mind and the ability to appreciate the absurdity of life is helpful. Curiosity is always a good thing. A love of bacon is non-negotiable.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work in tech and actually enjoy my job. I love living in the DC area. I walk to work and am blessed to not have to manage that thing called "traffic".

When I'm not at work, I'm hanging with my bike, The Baron. He has a facebook page.

So yeah, life is pretty damn awesome.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
If there is one thing that I am absolutely fantastic at, it is inappropriate giggling. I'm also pretty good at bringing out the ridiculous in those around me; It helps fuel the inappropriate giggling.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Others have told me that it is, in no particular order of frequency:
- my eyes
- my "jugs"
- my laugh
- my proclivity for mischief
- the fact that I move my hands a lot when I talk.

I don't really re-read books or re-watch movies very often. But some that have stood out:

Books: The Life of Pi, the Chronicles of Narnia.

Movies: Harvey, Donnie Darko, The Birdcage, The Last Unicorn.

Shows: These days, my go-tos are Modern Family, Daily Show, Hemlock Grove, and SVU.

Food: It's easier to tell you what I don't like: Carrots, Pickles and Liver. Pretty much anything else is fair game. Tomatoes used to be on this list, much to most people's surprise. I'm happy to say that I"m learning to enjoy them.

Music: It really runs the gamut. I am primarily drawn to
rock-guitar oriented music, probably because I'm a guitarist. Some of my more notable faves include The various incarnations of Mike Patton, The Doors, Aphex Twin, Rammstein, Dire Straits, Depeche Mode, Neko Case, Trampled by Turtles, Arcade Fire, Austra, Blondie, Daft Punk, Leonard Cohen, Sleater Kinney, Sonic Youth, The Afghan Whigs, Thievery Corporation, TV on the Radio. I've also been known to enjoy Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj. Say what you will.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Internet, coffee, music, massages, introspection and a car of sorts.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Bell curves, and how it seems most of my life has been spent on the outer edges of them.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either partaking of good food, drink, and conversation, or hitting the sack early to prep for a Saturday morning bike ride.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I wept watching Pantera: Behind the Music.
